APR Stage 2 & DSG Remap

I remember in one of your videos you mentioned that the standard downpipe was a really odd design and you were surprised that an engineer would have passed it. Do you think that perhaps this design is intentional and is in some way integral to the reliability of the turbo?

    HELP!!!!!

Easiest way is to get your phone into video mode and stick down into the engine bay facing towards the turbo, you'll notice a plate on the side of the turbo and this will tell you the part number, the date is stamped on the top (ish) of the turbo.

    HELP!!!!!

Really!! :frown: I didn't know the 722H's had reported failures! Seems they still haven't got it right then!

    HELP!!!!!

Thanks! The cost of the TTE turbo without giving them back a standard (undamaged) unit was too high, the wife has taken the bad news really well so far and hasn't put me in the dog house for voiding the warranty on our nice new car but I think if I told her I was going to spend even more money...

    HELP!!!!!

The car drives exactly as it did before, the only difference I have noticed is that I no longer get that nasty metallic rattle at low RPM. Having said that my wife's Golf R has the 722H turbo on and that rattles louder than my S3 did... The date stamped on the failed turbo is 21/03/2014. I...

    HELP!!!!!

UPDATE! Right guys, in the end I decided to just put my hands in my pocket and get the turbo replaced ASAP. I really didn't like the thought of going through all the hassle of getting the car to AMD, having it put back to standard and taking it to Audi only for them to spend god knows how many...

    HELP!!!!!

Thanks for getting back to me Shaun, as I have said many times I'm not at all blaming you and in no way hold you responsible, I took the decision to remap my car and therefore the responsibility lies with me. I'll Liaise with you directly to discuss my options.

    HELP!!!!!

Unfortunately its is JUST out of the 30 days which is a shame. I have to agree, I run my own business and if a customer has a problem, even if its not our fault we always try our very best to help in anyway we can, its what creates repeat business and builds a good reputation, It's obviously up...

    HELP!!!!!

Yeah I've asked them that and said I was willing to pay for their time etc but they said it's not something they were willing to do so my only option if I want the map removed is to get the car to them some how.

    HELP!!!!!

Yep you're completely right and it's why I am not complaining at all about APR, they made the risks known and I accepted them. The car was an April 2014. I've got nothing to lose so may as well try!

    HELP!!!!!

Thats intersting to hear! I had assumed that Audi would immediately detect the map had been on there and refuse the repair! Thanks!

    HELP!!!!!

To be honest Im just disapointed in myself for being so naive, at the end of the day its going to cost me some money to repair but I'll just have to take that on the chin. I'm just thankful it was me in the car and not my wife and son as I dont think I could forgive myself if it had happened to...

    HELP!!!!!

The problem is I have no way of getting the map taken off as the car is competely undriveable and AMD are about an hour away from me. If I could get it reverted to stock then I would try the Audi route.

    HELP!!!!!

I have just assumed that as my car is mapped that Audi would void my warranty.

    HELP!!!!!

Tune was APR stage 1 done by AMD in Essex, I'm not saying for a second that the map caused the failure as there is no way to prove that and it would be unfair of me to claim that but the car run faultlessly for 11000 miles and then less than 1000 miles after the map was installed the turbo...

    HELP!!!!!

Right, update. My mechanic has taken her apart and the turbo is shot but the blades are all still within the housing and the compression tests on the cylinders all came back positive so fingers crossed the engine has survived. I think I am now going to look down the TTE 450 route as the cost of...

    HELP!!!!!

Yup! And only had it mapped about 3 weeks ago. Going to speak to the tuner today and see what my options are. I knew the risks when I did the map just never imagined it would go bang after less than a thousand miles!
