Anyone running Eibach springs on their C5 Avant?

Intersted to know how you get on with this, I'm thinking of fitting a bilstein b12 kit which comes with eibach springs. Dont want to lower it 40mm thou, its already grounding out in bad carparks! B12 are relatively cheap from ebay.de: Eibach Bilstein B12 Fahrwerk Pro-Kit AUDI A6 4B C5 | eBay

    S3 Continentals

What are the standard contis on the s3? I really liked the sportcontact 5's on my m3, fantastic grip, wet or dry. Pressing on across Cornwall in driving rain there was never a hint the car was going to break away. The only issue was the 6000mile tyre life, £600/year on tyres hurts!

    Replacement Turbo and Rear Diff

Audi quoted me £800 to replace my rear discs, take their quotes with a pinch of reality.

    nurburgring tips and advice?

There's a bunch of specialists that will cover it, none of the regular uk insurers do anymore (there is an argument that EU law prevents a uk insurer selectively refusing to cover a specific road in the uk, but all that means is your insurance company will pay out, then recover the costs from...

    nurburgring tips and advice?

Yeh dont worry too much, its awesome fun :) You need third party liability or you're taking a massive risk. Sure crashing your car will hurt your wallet, but when you get a £150k bill for a bikers medical expenses, most people would be looking at selling their house, going bankrupt or both. My...

    nurburgring tips and advice?

The ring isn't really like a track day, it's a very different experience again. It's a lot more scary than a track day. Don't drive it in the wet, it's like driving on ice from the amount of oil, unburnt fuel and rubber on the track. Leave the ego at home, don't worry about trying to get that...

    2.7T oil driven cambelt damper

Agree it's sensible to replace, I'm shocked that Audi wouldn't replace it as part of the cambelt service normally.

2002 Audi Allroad its applying the brakes on its own going down the highway

I wouldn't take it personally! So was the car actually braking, or did it just suddenly loose power. Your maf fault could trigger limp mode, which feels like you driven into a wall sometimes. I would clear the fault codes and see what reoccurs when you testdrive it - poor connections or random...

    2.7T oil driven cambelt damper

So as an update I went to see the audi service desk today (after they'd promised to call me back at 9.30 and didnt), it turns out they were talking about the cambelt tensioner damper, which isnt part of the normal cambelt service price - seems pretty shocking as its cricual for cambelt tension...

    Updating pre-facelift A6

Thats a shame, I was hoping the bumpers are the same width. Not really in the market for fibreglass bumpers, too old for that! Do the facelift bumper grilles fit? I'm planning on removing the pre-cats before I get it remapped, then either going with the stock S4 map, which will give about...

    2.7T oil driven cambelt damper

My A6 is currently in for its cambelt, and I've had a call from the service manager telling me that they also need to replace the 'oil driven cambelt damper', which is apparently part of the oil pump, for only £120+vat. Has anyone who's done a cambelt on a v6 seen such a thing? I cant see it on...

    Hello

Just the one so far, snapped while we were watching the wyedean rally: Short term plan is to replace the tired dampers, fix the broken bits and service it, going forwards I want to modernise the bumpers and maybe paint the wheels :)

    Hello

Hi Everyone, I'm Doug, a noob with a new c5 A6 :) Previously I had a C4 A6 which is probably the best car I've ever owned, up until the cambelt snapped 2 years ago - its fixed now, but it was easier to buy a C5 than do the bits needed to get the C4 back on the road! I've also got a T4 camper van...

    Updating pre-facelift A6

I've just bought myself a 2001 2.7T A6 manual, absolutely love it. A bit like driving a very fast jelly, but really capable and pleasant to drive, after 3 years in a M3 I find myself enjoying driving again! Its in with audi now having the cambelt done and I'm pricing up some replacement dampers...
