A small follow-up question: Guys in Germany ordering an A3 / S3 saloon in the past weeks get a build month of October - that's friggin' 8 months! Any times for UK available at the moment?
In Germany there are two - and only two - reasons to buy a Diesel:
1) you love to drive over 200 km/h on the Autobahn all the time
2) you do absolutely huge miles (and we are talking 50.000+ km/year here)
Otherwise it's simply not worth it. Initial costs are way higher (roughly 2-3k)...
Certainly would be to a damaged car - but not to someone who denies everything, lies and simply has no balls to own up to his mistakes and instead tries to blame others for them.

This is an A3 Saloon from a german forum which was only 30 minutes old, rear-ended at a crossroads:

There was a similiar thread a while back. Conclusion was it very much depends on the exact tyres you are using. Some produce a LOT more noise than others.

I assume you have a copy of the signed order form? My course of action would be letting them know the order form signed by both parties is legally binding thus I expect them to fulfill it as is. If they'd continue to **** around, I would get in...
What happens is the following:
1) a car gets ordered (either by a customer or by a dealer)
2) it is placed in the queue and sits there awaiting its turn to be built
3) up until a certain point in time, the queued car can be reconfigured
4) it is planned into production and can no longer be...
Quite a few differences in the available options (and standard kits) between germany/uk..
