Agreed, it's the unbranded Chinese made stuff that is to be avoided. There's a reason they retail at about a quarter of the OEM price.

Hi Brodster, I'd imagine I'm not on my own when I ask is the box traceable by a dealer? Obviously you'd be plugging it out before leaving the car in, but is there a trace left on the ECU for Audi to spot?
