I might be a bit late to save you some hassle. But the divertor valve on the 2.0 and 1.8 tfsi engines is electrically operated not vacuum, so no hose to connect your boost gauge too anyway.

Keep it. I don't get the fad for removing them, as with the weather in our country you will spend 50 percent of the time with a window you can't see out of if you remove it. The shape of the back end seems to make the rear screen attract rain and road muck.

If you have the 1.8 tfsi engine, in the audi a3 from 2008 onwards, then unfortunately no there is no vacuum hose connected to the recirculating ( diverter) valve. Neither can you do a straight fit of the 007 or 008p valves. Forge do supply a boost gauge adapter for fitting a gauge...

Its on the back end of the engine, low down, mounted to the turbo charger. You have to jack up the car to get to it. Just to note that its electronically controlled, so if you were hoping to use it as a vacuum source, its not going to help. hope this helps

Just to mention, although it will be in the thread about fitting cruise control, that as well as fitting the parts you will also need to get it coded to the car to get the cruise control to work. This requires either finding someone local to you who has vcds, purchasing it yourself (what I did)...

Thanks for all the advice. I've got new spark plugs on the way as they haven't been changed for 20000 miles + I assume a coil pack on they way out would show on a vcds scan?

No, its not clutch slip. It happens before boost really starts to build and revs don't jump up. It actually feels almost like a fueling cut. Once on boost and going up through the gears it doesn't seem to happen again.

I'll try removing and re-installing later today. Although I did install it carefully the first time. I was in the car with both doors closed and followed the instructions to the letter.
