Whats the price fitted? How many hours involved? Again I have got an audi a3 2.0tdi 170 09 plate and do I definitely need to do this? Or only If it shows the signs, i.e white smoke from exhaust etc?

thanks for the info. So what can be done to stop the hex shaft causing issues? Is it an expensive fix? Wouldnt want the engine to go so dont mind doing any work as a pecuniary measure.

Cheers. Just found out audi did change the belt in 2013 but wasnt stamped in the book. Think im definetly going to buy. Only issue i can think is that its red, hope the colour doesnt fade as im looking to keep it long term..

Cheers for the tips. They said they're going to change the cambelt, as if its not done, it will void the warranty. Il ask them to do the waterpump at the same time. Its up at 8k I'll try offer 7.5k including the cambelt being done but dont know if they'll accept. Also anything to check on...

any other suggestions on what to look for when I go to view the vehicle? Might get a local VAG specialist to inspect it prior to purchase.

ofcourse, I have always changed it on time. I just wanted to check if any damage happens if its not done but I guess its only if it actually snaps? Might put a deposit on it in that case.

Hi looking at buying the above car... Its on 96k but seems it missed the dsg oil change at 80k. Its had the dsg oil changed at 40k. Should I risk it? Are these cars ok at these mileages with dsg?

Hi, looking at said vehicle. Has 50k on the clock and has only been serviced twice since 2007 according to the book and has had 1 former keeper. Would you recommend this vehicle? Could it possibly have been clocked? What else should I look out for when buying? Thank you.

When would you suggest to replace timing chain on the 1.8tfsi 2009 shaped audi a3. I know the service book says 100k miles, but would it be better to replace it beforehand? And if so what other components should be changed as well? Thank you.

Hi dont mean to hijack thread but im also looking at a 1.8tfsi audi. What would say is sufficient service history? Every year? How can I check warranty work has been carried out? Has there been any known warranty faults with 1.8tfsi engines from 2009?

I have seen some audis on the facelift shape and 1 or 2 had dirty or black rusty exhaust tips. What is the reason for this? I am suspicious they may have had clocks changed?
