Try moving your steering column in and out and up and down then try starting it. If that works, then replace the pins for the immo reader coil. Audi sell repair wires and pins if you give them the part number off the plug you need them for
It’s tricky. You have to be fairly good at soldering with a decent soldering iron. I’ve done a few clusters myself. Try to not buy the cheapest replacement panel off eBay. They’re generally *****.
My 99 S4 had airbag light on, no comms via racscan. Lost a 12v feed. Eventually traced the fault to swollen wire under the passenger carpet. Was a bit wet. Leak from door loom seal. So fault can be anywhere.
You can check the If any members are near you with VCDS sitemap thingy. There’s bound to be a nice person who would check it out in exchange for a couple o beers.
Some of the launch tools are good. I’ve got the EasyDiag for iPhone. You can buy the Audi software for one year for 24 quid. Or I’ve got the launch CRP129 which scans engine, auto-box,abs and airbag for all makes and models. It’s easier to plug in and see what the issue is. The older launch...
I’ll have a stab at this...
Depends what’s wrong with it. It could have a breakdown linkage. It’s vacuum actuated so the wee diaphragm could’ve burst. Easier way to check is to whip it off. Check the vacuum solenoid and linkage, check nothings broken. And check there’s not any sludge fouling...
Mines is fine 50% of the time then it moves about. Instead off being centred it’s split 50%left and 50%right.. how much range have I got? What’s the outside temp? **** knows..
Depends which sump plug you have. New style is 19mm , new sump plug comes with the seal. The old school sump plug is 17mm if I remember correctly. And that one has the replaceable massive copper washer
not too long ago I got my hands on a nice azure blue TQS.. nice looking car. Paintworks mint but the boleros need a refurb. Apart from that the only other thing that really annoyed me was the DIS screen was totally wiped out. So I go on fleabay and look for the genuine VDO screen.. found one or...
To get the sump off you either have to slacken engine mounts and jack up so sump will clear subframe enough. Or I normally take all bolts out of sump then get various 1/4” drive extensions between the gap of sump and block and unbolt the pickup pipe. The engine still needs jacked up though with...
Also had a non turbo 1.8 and that one clicked and was tappety. And oil pressure warning light didn’t come on but not surprisingly the oil pump pickup was blocked. I’d check that out first if it’s not been done before.
I’d get a vcds scan done in the car and see what’s been affected. Normally anything with a pretensioner needs replaced also. Easier to just get a replacement seat. Any B5 seats should fit.
