Nice weather = more mobile speed traps

Yes, pretty sure the mobile vans all use laser now, so any form of detectors (including laser detector) would be useless, as by the time you have detected the laser, the device will have clocked your speed and photographed you!

Nice weather = more mobile speed traps

I have the same unit. Maybe I'll pay the £19.99 for an update as mine is so out of date for fixed speed camera sites. In five years there are probably three times more country-wide than it has in it's database! The touch screen on my One is getting bad now and it has an irritating habit of...

Nice weather = more mobile speed traps

Just a heads up on the amount of police mobile speed trap activity around at present. Just been up in Nottingham in my 8V this weekend and passed through several sneaky mobile traps: A46 between Coventry and M40 southbound - on bridge (yesterday afternoon) A6003 Oakham, Leicestershire. Well...

    Not happy

These people are unbelievable aren't they! Some people have no driving skills and should be taken off the road. Feel so sorry for you. The carelessness is staggering, just plough backwards and swing the wheel to turn without looking where they are going. My sister has a 14 reg Audi All Road and...

    LED DRL'a retrofit? Cost?

Thanks. Sounds like a heck of a lot to spend and I somehow doubt I would get my money back at resale time. Think I'll put up with the halogens :)

    LED DRL'a retrofit? Cost?

My 2013 A3 Sportback Sport has filament DRL's and Halogen headlights. Even Ford Focus's have LED's now, so I feel at little short changed! Quick question, can Xenon's and LED DRL's as fitted on the S-line be retrofitted and anyone know the cost? I had a loaner S-line 8V for two weeks and I...

Be Careful with Aluminium Body Panels on 8V!

Newbury Audi have made good the bonnet damage. It's now pretty much perfect. Very pleased with their customer service and the quality of the remedial work. Even looking at a reflection in the damaged area shows almost perfect lines.

Hissing / poor signal (intermittent) FM Radio

Like the fact he added decoupling capacitors to his 7805 circuit board. Obviously knows what he is doing :) I have some 7805's in my junk box, so might get my soldering iron out and try this out...

New A3 Sportsback 2.0 TDI Sport

Wasn't an overwhelming success when I tried it either. I don't have any particularly strong accent, that I am award of! The car decided to call someone totally different, hence I recommended manually choosing the contact to dial.

New A3 Sportsback 2.0 TDI Sport

Hi Neil, Glad you like it. I have the same car and can probably help you with a few of your points. The left hand steering wheel small black know (when turned) shows all driving data:- The fuel economy readings have two groups - you will see some are tagged with a red "1" and some with a red...

Be Careful with Aluminium Body Panels on 8V!

Hi John, Totally agree. The panels seem very fragile on the 8V and given that most people have no regard for the paintwork of the vehicle they park next to, it is only a matter of time before the side looks a mess with parking dings.

Be Careful with Aluminium Body Panels on 8V!

Just a quick note to owners of the 8V to be very careful with the aluminium body panels as they dent very easily. These components are the front wings and the bonnet. I had a stupid mishap last week with my A3. Ran out the house in a downpour, slipped on my slippery sealed block paved driveway...

    So annoyed!

If you don't mind a drive, Headley Body Shop in Newbury are excellent. We had some significant damage to the side of our VW Golf which is a dark blue metallic and the repair is indistinguishable from the original. You now can't see what was a massive gouge out of the rear door even if you look...

    Help!!! 1.6 TDI S-Tronic or 2.0TDI manual.

Exactly what I have found regarding comfort and noise. I think there may also be a link between more road derived noise in the cabin and the more complex suspension setup. I think the multi link suspension works much better in fast cornering though. My wife's SE suspension Mk VII Golf with...

    Help!!! 1.6 TDI S-Tronic or 2.0TDI manual.

I have been driving my wife's 1.6 TDI Golf on longer journeys and last week went to Dorset and it frustrated me the lack of power and torque when trying to go up steep hills. As this car has the same engine as the 8V A3, I would advise you go for a more powerful option like the 1.4 COD or the...

Which Sainsburys did this happen in out of interest?

    Help!!! 1.6 TDI S-Tronic or 2.0TDI manual.

Didn't I read somewhere on this forum that the 1.6 8V has the multi link suspension the same as the 2 litre. Wasn't it only the Golf MK VII 1.6 which runs on the same MQB platform that has the simpler torsion beam suspension? Please someone confirm or correct this if I am wrong.
