    Just to add to this old post, Had 3 of these pumps fail now, Seems to be issues with quite a lot as read about at least 3 others failing! Wouldn't bothe with anything less than the dw65v for a few extra quid.

    In my opinion and the opinion of most others in main land Europe, the end bracing plate being suggested in this thread isn't worth the hassle with how thin and flimsy it is, if you just take a look at what adt, monster, frt etc run its about 10 times thicker and supports the whole end of the box.

    Ahaha I'm the same when I have my little one wondering the garage while I'm in there! Many thanks for the pics they are perfect and confirm my suspicions that unlike mk4 golf's they didn't leave the cable throttle brackets in place :(

    My s3 not a whole lot...my haldex converted golf is another story, it's got a mildly fettled vr6 that I'm hoping to max (90% duty) the 6x1000cc injectors out.. should have numbers later this year if I decide to visit a dyno after mapping.

    If you need to change gear mid corner I'd say your in the wrong gear and either entering too fast or too slow...

    He's a Dr of chemical engineering, it costs him about a third of what it would to buy it, and his car is strictly drag strip only. I may give his special brew ago when I'm on the road, but it'll mean new injectors.

    Your not exactly testing it too it's limit. (4wd launch on drag slicks with north of 800bhp+ usually over 1000bhp and with more torque from the vr style engine.) On a previous car build I could get 2 years of track days out of a gearbox that would last 1 rwyb at santapod, Shows the difference...

    Yes. But the most of the gear kits worth buying now for big power (not sqs rubbish) are helical cut. As helical is inherently stronger than straight cut.

    Being alloy not alot. Less than a 1kg I should think, maximum 2kg. A small price to pay to avoid bearings and shafts visiting your out the end case.
