Well I downloaded some codes and all I got was an error code which apparently is running Rich. I thought the code was 0506 or 0560..
I wrote the code down but left it at home...any thoughts. ? When warm and at tickover it seems to have a "cough" every 5 seconds or so.. like a missfire.
I didn't get the read out... bu I think it was Hydrocarbons and Co2, tickover and higher up. I has passed the emmission for last two years so don't think it has anything to do with the install !
I know when I had the standard 2.0 petrol I had to change the blue 2 pin temp sensor every two...
I have an AGU in my T4 van. and it's emissions failed the MOT. I don't have any engine warnign lights set up but I do have an code reading port. I'm hoping it a temp sensor. I replaced this about 2 years ago and from memory it's a black 4 pin sensor that happened to fix the temp gauge as...
Cheers all.
I did try the brakes and they did skid so figured brakes are ok but no abs.
I do have VCDS light which might do it. One of the two cheapo readers I have does look at the ABS module so I might get lucky.
Just wanted a little bit of re assurance before I drive home !
Hi all,
Coming to work this morning I felt the ABS come on when I was doing about 2 mph. As if I was skidding, but obviously not at 2 mph. It did it again a little faster this time but brakes just juddered and felt very wooden and almost like the Servo was not working. Then the ABS warning...
Ok so the crankshaft sensor is just behind the oil filter. Easy access but I changed the oil and having the oil filter out of the way makes getting the sensor out easier. It is fairly well stuck in and took a bit of levering out. Plug was a pig to release as well. Anyway it solved the non...
OK been a while and it's done it's usual not starting trick a couple of times. Did about 40 miles Sunday and went to move the van tonight and it wont fire. Checked all my wiring and fuses and the ign feed I used from the van and it's all ok. Even swapped ECUs for another I have that I know...
OK I'll have to get it scanned 1 I guess a fault might be logged. But I do know that the fuel pump does run as I can hear it. Obviously being an engine swap it adds complications ! It could be something wrong in the van wiring. It's the van's ign feed that triggers a relay to feed the AGU...
Hmm good point. I had the immobiliser removed from the ECU as it's an engine swap. So unless it's cutting in for some reason I don't think it's that, but I will ask the guy that did the change for me.
Thanks
What's confusing me is that it runs fine. No sign if misfire or anything even when stuck in traffic when under bonnet temps must be similar if not mare than when you park and turn the engine off. I'm a bit old school so not too familiar with sensors etc but I would have thought a crank...
OK so I have an AGU engine in my VW T4 Transporter. Everything has been fine for a year but recently when I turn it off when hot and then try and start it after say 10 minutes it turns over but doesn't fire. Never a misfire when running or even stuck in traffic. So something is not liking the...
I have an AGU engine in my T4 Transporter and I'm having trouble with the gasket on the downpipe from the turbo housing. The one I'm using is a thin aluminum type but it keeps blowing after a week or so. Am I using the right gasket or perhaps the home made downpipe isn't flexing properly. I...
I'm going to take a look at the above car tonight.
Car has done 122k miles, is there anything I should be looking out for. I suppose my main concern would be the valve guides. Can an 8 valve head be swapped for the 16v (just thinking of a cheap fix of the car does smoke)
Any help advice would...
