Had same thing happen to me. Turned out the plastic flap that let's heat into the car was jammed.it is behind the glove box. Hand to remove the glove box to get to flap.

Thanks j. Where was you a week ago with this info. Lol. Not got a s3 so had no idea. I removed the scuff plate but didn't know s3 had different door blade. Well they fit well with the original blade and scuff plate now.
