Sent them an email on the back of the email I got after service. Asked them what procedure they used to identify the problem ad being the pump and that I paid them for service and a diagnostics to find out what was wrong with 4 wheel drive and they advised after diagnostics that it was the pump...

The controller is the silver box that the cable from the pump plugs into and price for that is just under 900 quid from audi.

:-( just got new pump fitted but no joy still spinning front wheels. Audi advised it was the pump but looks like they got it wrong so 250 quid out of pocket. What else could be the problem, any help much appreciated.

is there such a thing to get the pump out/off? mine is stuck solid and not sure what to use to remove it so any help welcome :)

Na sure if there be room to get chain round it and body of pump is bit flimsy going by feel, think it could be stuck solid with rge heat from exaust as that runs just past it also. I'll get it booked in this week.

Update. Went to change pump today after doing oil and filter last weekend. Had everything stripped down and just the pump to remove but after taking the 2 x bolts out it was still stuck solid and could not get it to budge so had to put it all back together so I still don't have my pump changed...

Aye pump will be bought in the morning if audi has it in stock and ill fit it myself as it looks a very easy job to do

Done the oil and filter yesterday ut no joy so ill be off to audi in the morning to see if I can haggle a discount on the pump. I'll let you know how I get on

we update for you gents, done the oil and filter change on the haldex but no joy and wheels still spinning :( oil was rather black when drained and looked like it had lumps in it but on touching the lumps they just disappeared so no metal or anything to worry about. just away to have a look for...

Just got my s3 back from service, asked them to check 4 wheel drive as front was spinning at 70 if I floored it and would spin all way up gears . Had it on computer and ran ecu test which showed no faults but mechanic ran haldex pump diagnostics and that came back with a fault saying new pump...

I have one at back and 1 at front on 2007 s3, sorry can't be of anymore help.

So does the 2007 s3 take 1ltr or oil or is it 250ml that comes in the tube? Did audi change from 250ml to 1ltr? would be good to know as ill find out from audi how much they put in at last service.

Does anyone know the correct part number for the filter and oil for the following, 2007 S3 QUARTO I dId find this but thought oil came in a tube!
