    On the brink..........

The S3's are very, very nice, but I can't justify one, even if I can afford one. Hyundai i10's are designed for a certain type of person. I'm not that certain type of person! The A6 is only 6 months old so it serves as the "nice" car in the family fleet, the Leon/A3 would simply be a second car...

    On the brink..........

After discount, the Leon would be about £21.5K, whereas the A3 was coming out around £29.5K. That's Leon FR 184 with extras vs A3 SB Sport 184 with extras.

    On the brink..........

Surprisingly that's not the case. The GFV is roughly 50%, same as the A3. Problem with the A3 is lack of standard equipment, meaning plenty of £'s on options, which don't add anything to GFV and little to resale price. Agreed that Leon plastics aren't up to A3, but then nor are the Golf or...

    New S3 test drive impressions

Internet brokers seem to be offering about 8% discount across the A3 range. So probably worth arming yourself with a couple of their quotes before talking to dealer.

    On the brink..........

Those are the four cars I've been testing and was all set to order the A3, until that is, I drove the Leon. Previous versions weren't nice, especially as they didn't appear to have any suspension to speak of and had a low quality dash/interior. But this latest one is a significant step forward...

    Discounts?

You can't negotiate a px with DtD, however you may be able to do so through the supplying dealer. But you'll only find out who that is after ordering the car from DtD. Best bet is private sale though Autotrader, etc or try webuyanycar or similar.

Magnetic Ride / Progressive Steering - anyone got them?

Thanks Tom. What A3 version have you got? If you had to choose between the two options, which would you go for?

Magnetic Ride / Progressive Steering - anyone got them?

Starting to home in on my definitive spec for an A3 SB 184 Sport, but still not sure whether the magnetic ride is worth the 995 smackers Audi charges for it and/or the progressive steering. I've been growing accustomed to the adaptive air suspension of our Allroad and quite fancy the option to...

    Discounts?

They charge the supplying dealer £500 for finding the customer. Coast2coast include a £300 admin charge in their quote. This difference might explain why they are a couple of hundred quid cheaper than DtD. It is by far the easiest way to get the biggest discount going. Very rarely are people...

New A3 122 BHP Vs 140 BHP...Which to go for?

But how much extra will the 140 be worth come resale time? You may get most of that £1K back.

    Discounts?

I was looking at Sport 184 SB. Not much in it, £200 at most.

    Discounts?

No issues with DtD, used them twice now and still can't believe how easy they are to use. Just that being north of Watford Gap, I was interested to know how far I have to travel if I decide to press the Go button for a new A3 SB. Also, has anyone used Coast2Coast yet? They seem to offer a...

    Manuals...

Audi (I think) are the only company in the group that don' provide pdf's of their car's manuals - somehow it seems at odds with their "Vorsprung durch technik" motto.

Full LED Headlights Vs LED daytime running lights

Interesting question, LED's vs Xenon. Do LED's need the same anti glare setup as Xenons do? On the face of it, I'd suggest that the LED's cost Audi a LOT less to fit then the Xenons do, so must be a big profit earner when a buyer ticks the LED box.

    Discounts?

Does anyone know which dealer DtD are using at present? We got an A6 Allroad in April and that was from Crawley Audi, but I think DtD were on the brink of changing dealers.
