    new s3/sat nav

Re. ACC, it only goes to a stop with s-tronic. In my manual it cuts out below a certain speed (more like 15mph than 30mph I think). In spite of that, I still find it incredibly useful and reliable, though if you're doing a lot of city driving I'd imagine the combo of the two would be fantastic...

    Dangerous ACC

Personally, I find the ACC to be one of the best SAFETY features I've specced on my A3. Both my wife and I can be guilty of subconsciously edging closer than we should be if we're tired and stuck behind a vehicle going "too slow" (e.g. caravan or lorry on a country road). Particularly being...

A3 / S3 Sportback thule roof bars - no rails. My Pic.

If it's any consolation I read the instructions about 5 times with a mindset of, "are you SURE that's the way round you want me to put them!?" I guess the noise comes from the resulting turbulence, so having the tapered end that way does make some sense, even if it's not entirely intuitive.

You wouldn't get the wingbar (not edge) in the boot, not without sticking down either a seat or the through-load carrier if you have that.

A3 / S3 Sportback thule roof bars - no rails. My Pic.

Yep, they're the wrong way around (as per the instructions, anyway). I've got the same bars but with the fixing pack for the integrated rails, and mine vary between fairly quiet and quite noisy, though it seems to be more dependent on cross-winds, etc., rather than the actual headwind generated...

Android KitKat Bluetooth Phonebook compatibility with MMI

I had slightly the opposite issue, in that my contacts aren't stored with Google, but with a second account (MS Exchange sync). Prior to Kitkat, everything appeared fine, but afterwards the car was only syncing a "Me" record which is presumably coming from Google, as I've never put anything in...

    Through-load facility

Sorry Allan, ignore the PM I sent you - figured it was easier to just take the photos regardless while there was some daylight left (so you may have already seen something by now)...

    Roof Rail

Did you get with the official Audi cross-bars then? How are they for taking off & on?

    Roof Rail

I have Thule wingbars (not edge) and they're pretty quiet without the bike carriers or anything else on. That said, I was a bit disappointed the feet don't have anything to locate into the holes on the rails, which makes taking them off and on more of a faff as you have to visually try and make...

    Problems filling screenwash

Okay... decided I wanted it resolved given the time of year and current weather, so rang service desk and they said no problem, pop it round and we'll take a look. So I drove straight over with a bottle of water, ready to demonstrate the problem .... and of course it just flowed straight in...

    Problems filling screenwash

Thanks for the replies. I can't see anything blocking it, and this is the first time I've tried topping it up. I'll give them a ring in case it's a known issue, or failing that I'll drive by later in the week and see if I can grab someone to witness the issue. I'll report back once it's...

    Problems filling screenwash

The screenwash refill light came on this morning for the first time on my new A3, so I went out at lunch to do what I thought would be the simple task of topping it up. There's a filter just inside the refill cap (which I've not had on any previous car, I don't think), and after getting a small...

    Missing Radar detector thingy?

Hi, I picked up mine last week - ACC but none of the extra bits like side assist - and I have exactly the same plastic plate as you (had to go out and check - hadn't even noticed before), and the ACC is all working very well.

    Hill Hold

Great, thanks. That's what was confusing me I think, the brochure didn't really make it clear that it was an extension of the standard behaviour. It sounds like it would be useful generally then, rather than on what you might think of traditionally as a "hill start".

    Hill Hold

First off, first post, so hello all and thanks for all the useful info I've been getting from this forum the past few weeks :) I've got an A3 Sportback on order (two weeks into the wait!) after having one as a hire car from Geneva airport and absolutely loving it (had been looking for something...
