Hey all, Just got back from 2 tidy weeks in Costa Rica to find the alarm in my S3 playing up! When you lock the car with the fob (or using the key in the door), I get the door locks going down and indicators flashing, but no red LEDs flashing around the locks. It also doesn't sound the alarm...

Thought I'd update this in case anyone else had the same problem: Turns out it was the alternator pulley on it's way out, £35 for a new one and no more squeals!

Figured I'd just post an update: Turns out there was a crack in the master cylinder. £40 part, £30 labour and I'm back on the road! So glad it wasn't the slave!

The level definitely isn't that low. It's probably 3-4cm from the top of the reservoir. Might have to roll it 1/4 mile from the house and get the AA to tow me to a garage, way out of my league this stuff!

Just attempted to try this, it won't even go into gear with the pedal all the way down now! The amount of fluid leaking has gone up, although the level in the reservoir doesn't seem low

Brakes feel fine. Don't feel spongey or anything like that.

If you're quick with your hands you can get the old thermostat out and the new one in without loosing too much coolant. As soon as the old stat is out water will start glugging from the hole, so have everything to hand and you should be okay

Seem to be fine, although the sound has only been around since I had the PAS pump replaced. What on the belt could be causing the sound? Doesn't necessarily seem to be high-RPM that induces it, more like high-boost

Started getting this horrible squeal under hard acceleration. Got a recording of it whilst going through the gears, most prominently heard in 1st. I can't decide if it's a rubbing noise or an 'air escaping' noise. Either way, it hasn't thrown up any error messages. Any idea on what I'm facing here?

Anyone know if I could swap my stock turbo (on its way out) for a BBT hybrid whilst keeping safe, stock HP? Not enough cash to change the rods and do all the stage 2 mods at the moment, but may do in the future: Seems a waste to change the turbo for another stock K04 and have to upgrade again...

I've got the starlings of bubbling towards the top of both rear quarters, exactly the same location on both sides. The Swansea VW body shop said any claim would be void as the paint is too thick, indicating a respray at some point. Pretty annoyed :(
