Yes but you might not need it if you are pushing under 500nm on DQ380. That is the question with the new DQ381 how much can it handle before starting to slip. :)
The facelift S3 has the DQ381 and it has 400nm. But also the new Tiguan 2.0 biTdi has the same DQ381 and it has 500nm. So I would guess it can possible handle over 500nm. Perhaps I'm wrong.
I have done it on all my audis...never changed anything back before service and never got any TD1. But I have noticed sometimes that when they sync the settings to Audis server it changed some values back to original. But never TD1. But I guess if they want they could!?
Thanks Rob for the DIY. I did the light to backdoor also. Works fine. But I used the 2mm optic fiber and it does not light that bright but it works. I think I will try later with 2.5mm or 3mm.
And actually you don't need to remove the grill just push the fiber inside the "hole" and it will go to...
How much for those? I'm trying to figure out how much all those could cost, for a sportback. Doors, and the dashboard. Would like to do some custom work on them.
Most likely an aftermarket IC wont give you anything...Well perhaps a bit if the original is restricting the airflow. But in warm weather there might be bigger difference. Perhaps I'm wrong. But a good IC is always better than a bad one ;)
Shouldn't you also buy new steering wheel? Not sure but, might be new buttons for the virtual cockpit? But that's really bold of you. How much was the virtual cockpit?
I read somewhere it's not connected to the boost sensor down under the car. Similar connection as DTUK box. I wonder how good this box is and yes strange thing with that engine warranty for that price.
For me the dealer advertised that the MMI hardware could be upgraded in the future for new features in this "new" MIB platform. But I think that is just crap. I don't think we are getting any new features... Would be nice to get carplay and android auto. :/
