    Alarm Siren query.

Excellent, Marklar, these are exactly what I was hoping for. And, better than that, I don't have to take out the roof compartment "floor", which is somewhat fragile in my car (from previous owners, I hasten to add). I shall follow your process for the batteries; if possible, I may try to squeeze...

    Audi A4 Electronic Hood Problem

Thin Lizzy, did you get to the bottom of this? Two ways that the roof can become intermittent. First is the motor of the pump, which will stop at some random intermediate stage. Second is because of a switch becoming sticky, so that it fails to report a movement once that is expected. (four...

    Passenger rear door

I've had my latch to bits, and there are two motors for locking the door; one is the basic lock, and the other is a deadlock. The deadlock is a smaller motor, but drives the lock system as well as the deadlock system. When you unlock the car, the deadlock is cleared, and you can then manually...

    Alarm Siren query.

Do you have a location for the sounder? My VCDS is reporting a sounder connection problem, so I want to get in and check it is connected, with battery, etc, but only have the vague "under the roof compartment, driver's side" description from your other thread. Have you managed to check the...

A4 B7 Cab, How To Replace Hazard Switch? HELP?

OK, update. You can remove the storage compartment above the switch array with two latches in the top of the compartment. (Look up at the roof of the compartment, you'll see a tag each side.) The switch set can then be removed by pressing the tags on each end. (I was interested in replacing the...

Audi a4 2006 cabriolet remote boot unlock and roof not working, please help

It has been mentioned above, but the boot and roof cannot both be open at once, so if any of your roof cycle is not seen to be complete, then the boot release will not work, and only the key will allow you to open the boot. Similarly, if the boot shelf is up, then the roof cannot be operated; I...

    Cabriolet wind deflector

I am surprised that you have a wind deflector that has all the correct mounting points (two flat "fingers" that tuck beside the seat back near the rear seat belts, and two sprung bolts to go into the the side panels beside the rear seats) and yet it is not the OEM part. I found this image of the...

Cabriolet Roof Shelf edge cover; info sought

Is this it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201636393176 ? eBay item 201636393176 Seems like it's a hard plastic shell to cover the approach to the shelf, and does not fold flat when the shelf is fully raised, thereby blocking some of the boot space (even when the use of the roof is sacrificed for...

    Cabriolet wind deflector

moorzy, thanks for the prompt response. Whilst I have your ear, have you seen my question about the shelf blind? http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/cabriolet-roof-shelf-edge-cover-info-sought.284814/

Cabriolet Roof Shelf edge cover; info sought

Guys, I have recently serviced the raising mechanism for the shelf in the boot to reserve the space for the folding roof. It is apparent to me that there should be a further detail that is missing from mine; a "blind", to stop the roof touching the content of the boot, that runs from the two...

    Cabriolet wind deflector

I wouldn't be too upset about not being able to carry it in the boot; the size of the folded screen takes up about half of the space remaining once the roof shelf is down, and so makes it not useful for carrying four people (with any baggage). In fact, have you found the wind deflector to be...

A4 B7 Cab, How To Replace Hazard Switch? HELP?

Old thread, but useful if you got to the answer. From observations on fleabay, the hazard switch os part of the switch assembly, and so will require a bit more disassembly to get it out. However, hazard functions for the doors are controlled by the comfort unit; if you open the driver's door...

Access to ashtray to change power socket lamp

on my B8, the lighter socket beside the gear change has blown its bulb, and hence neither it nor the ashtray are lit. How do I gain access to the socket so I can change the bulb? And while we're in the area, how do I get the rear socket (under the vents for the back seat) out? The flap is...

    Heavens above.

And if you get out to enjoy the car (as a driving machine) then it all gets dirtier! I suspect I'm not entitled to write on this forum, it's been so long since I cleaned the car, let alone "detailed" it.

    Curry hooks on Avant

From flea bay, search "cargo trunk bag hook", and you can get them for a couple of quid. (Cost depends on speed of delivery; I got mine on the never never from HK) So I have a few hooks to put into the family fleet, and so can try different locations; still good to hear from people who have...

    Curry hooks on Avant

Yes, I noticed that, and have tried them, but they are small hooks (so only one bag per hook) and slightly too close to the boot floor, so the bag often falls off the hook. I suppose one option is a bungee between the two lashing eyes, and I could support a whole line of bags!
