No not in an option pack for Australia (at least). It'd be exclusive, which makes things even more complicated as there are a few shades of yellow to choose from. I'd go with Nardo but then have already had two grey Audis previously. :(
For drag racing, I need the ability to keep the intercooler cool whilst idling/ waiting in queue, hence needing a water spray system with a proper FMIC that sits in front of the AC condenser. But there is no doubt that a single large cooler would work very well whilst the car is in motion.
Just an update to this thread. S. was kind enough to sell me his modified twincooler since they never made a proper version for the facelift S3 sportback. The cooler is on it's way to me now, once it's setup with a water spray system I'll report back whether it works well or not.
The Forge RS3 intercooler is interesting. So your source was implying that it'd fit 8P S3? What about the stock cooler, do they offer a delete kit to remove it, or does it work like the forge twincooler ? As I understand RS3 and TTRS have a true FMIC from the factory unlike S3 which is behind...
I'd think with 850whp a low 9 is definitely possible if not a 8! That's of course if they prepare the car properly for drag racing - weight reduction, increase traction n etc.
Was just reading about this car the last few days, it's also the most powerful 8P S3 in the world. There is however another even quicker 2.0TFSI in the form of a MKV GTi which did 9.7 sec IIRC.
Well, a combination of quite a few things needs to happen. The short answer is: get to 400hp, reasonable weight reduction, proper suspension and tyre setup, and do plenty of runs to fine tune everything.
I see. Thinking about adding twincooler to my stock S3 intercooler (metal end tanks). Not sure how that would affect pressure and flow. I'm guessing most of air would go through the twincooler as it'd be cooler but it is a lot smaller than stock, now would that be an efficient setup?
Sorry to hear about your cams issue. The general consensus after talking to a few tuners and Golf R BT owners is that S3 cams are already very good. In fact, most GTi guys when upgrading to K04 or BT would choose S3 cams over other supposedly more aggressive profile aftermarket options...
That intake manifold is looking very nice Alex, which reminds me to go back and finish reading your thread (not that it'll ever finish, I hope not), remember I left it at page 30 last time:D
