Sorry, no progress. I had a cursory look at the easiest accessed connections but it made no difference. Looks like I'm going to have hand over more money to get it looked at again :-(

Thanks AQ, that makes sense. Sounds like there might be a lot of 'checking' to be done, hence the reason the dealers didn't (wouldn't?) look at it.
