A3 8L Fuel Pump Sender Unit

Fair enough. Thanks for the guide - I think I'm going to ask my mechanic to do that, because that's probably the cheapest method. If it doesn't work then I may just get a 2nd hand pump from eBay and use that. Practically, if you use the offset then how do you know how far out the gauge is...

A3 8L Fuel Pump Sender Unit

Sorry I haven't replied sooner. I did email them, but never heard back. Did you have any luck? It's for the 1.8 petrol, so I don't know if that will make a difference as mine is the 1.9 diesel... Does anyone know whether this will work? Interesting about the offset, but how would you know...

A3 8L Fuel Pump Sender Unit

So you're certain that's the correct sender unit? Mine isn't quite the same issue as yours. My gauge works correctly as it's been tested with the diagnostic machine, but it always reads 1/8th higher than the fuel level actually is, so the warning goes off st the wrong time etc

Morning guys, I need to replace the sender unit in my fuel pump, and I've not been able to properly find out which part I need. Could anyone confirm for me that this is it? Thanks, dirtychinchilla

S3 Seats in A3 - Airbag Light - Solved at last

That is a very good point :P thanks for the advice. Hopefully They'll do it for me! My MOT is this weekend and I think the car is screwed. It's even more screwed if the airbag light won't turn off!

S3 Seats in A3 - Airbag Light - Solved at last

Ah man, that's annoying. Well I have no chance, and I don't own a laptop anyway so it's not like I could achieve anything with the lead. I'm trying to get in contact with the guy that reset them previously. Hopefully he'll get back to me and say he can do it. I don't want to hassle the guy...

S3 Seats in A3 - Airbag Light - Solved at last

I only have a basic diagnostic reader, so I don't think I can read the right sort of codes. I'll get the manual and have another look though

    2003 a3 boot not opening

Ok well I replaced the lock again and this time it actually worked. The arm is too long, so I'll need to change that, but apart from that it's all functioning. Scotty, what I recommend you do is take the trim off on the tailgate so that he lock is fully exposed. Then have the boot open and try...

Is there any chance that someone would do us both a huge favour and take a video of their exposed locking mechanism whilst they turn the key in the lock? As far as I can tell, locking it is just doing nothing.

I haven't found a way yet. I'm going to replace the lock housing thing and see what happens.

Yup I saw it. Your lock won't fit in the barrel? Sounds like you need a new barrel. My problem is with the entire mechanism :(

Oh right...looks like you need a new barrel for your lock.

I've just bought one of these on the assumption that that's the problem. I can send it back if necessary.

    2003 a3 boot not opening

Ah that's annoying. I think we may now have the same problem. I also think something has shorted because this happened after I'd given the car quite an extensive pressure washing. Have you tried seeing what happens when you turn the key in the lock? I think that's moved things forward a bit for...
