    Starting woes......................sort of

A quick..........ish note on this issue I have been having. I have finally sorted it!! It turned out I have had the incorrect Air Mass meter on the car all along!! The one I had was considerably smaller than the new Bosch item. Apparently my car was built on the cusp of when there was a change...

How to Check Anti Shudder Valve?

Also check that the vac pipes aren't perished or disconnected and maybe check the wiring to the actuator. Mine wasn't working and it turned out to be a broken wire.

So I am still having this hesitant revving under load. A few things I have done are cleaning turbo veins, intake manifold, blocked EGR, fitted new thermostat (now runs at 90!) and was about to replace coolant temp sensor before I got crashed into!! The temp gauge will drop to 0 and stay there...

Hi all is this the right EGR delete kit?????

I used just 2 blanking plates and a bolt in the pipe. Left actuators plugged in. On an 03 plate and had no issues. I only did it to avoid all the crap reoccurring after cleaning the intake manifold. Haven't noticed any change to the mpg at all but it did feel more responsive and pulled better. I...

Mr Muscle Turbo clean quick question

I wouldn't risk it for a chocolate biscuit mate. You need to see the tube goes in the right direction as shown in the guide.

    Quick key question

Hi All, Not a major issue as only happened twice in 4 months or so. Lock car with button, unlock next morning with button but car won't unlock. Indicators don't flash..........nothing. Unlock using key in door, put key in ignition, turn to second click and car locks then unlocks on its own...

Problem with starting please read strange issue

So I'm not sure if this will apply to your car as it does mine (03 plate TDI). But I had/have a similar issue. After doing other things to the car and seeing a bizzare suggestion for stopping the starting issue (which I ignored) I was getting a little hacked off with it!! So I thought I would...

Cleaning out Intake Manifold and EGR

I did this last night, I removed and cleaned straight after a 10 mile drive. All the build up was nice and soft, used a hot pressure washer and it all came out with no effort. I cleaned the EGR bit with a toothbrush and heating oil. There must have been a near 5mm build up on everything!!

    Comfort control unit ???????

I had this, popped it out, dried under carpet, unblocked plenum drains. Took CCU indoors, removed from case, dried, lots of contact spray, in airing cupboard over night, then re instated. Job done, everything worked. MAKE SURE BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED BEFORE REMOVING FROM CAR

This made no difference :( I have noticed that the car will rev higher when cold.

I thought this was referring to the prolonged starting and not the performance issue?

I'm going to try blocking the pipe off the EGR to see if I get an improvement this afternoon, if not I think I'm out of idea's so any help would be much appreciated. Mike :)

Ok so I managed to have a tinker today and had some success and still having some issues! Ha! I discovered the earth to the actuator that controls the flap valve had been chopped, repaired it and the car switches off smoother than a smooth thing, but still won't rev above 3750rpm under load...

The dog has surpassed itself this time!!

I had it happen once on very wet leaves going down a steep twisty hill (my favourite run in the pug!), I was pushing it! hahaha

    MEET TAUNTON 10TH NOV

I would attend but it's a full weekend with my children. I could bring them but they are only 1 & 2 and it's a fair drive from Paignton! I don't think I could handle the chaotic boredom!! hahahahaha! Hope you get a bit more interest, organising meets can be a real real ball ache!
