I have a 2008 Audi A3 Sportback, 1.4 TFSI.
Been sitting on the fence about when to start getting stuck into it cause I've only had it 8 months but after finding the best remap place and having that in mind for future I really want to improve the airflow.
Just looking for some recommendations...
I have the 1.4 TFSI, couldn't tell you any specific technical details but from a driving and day to day life point of view it's a good car! 123BHP isn't ground breaking but it's certainly got enough pull for ordinary driving. I got the 1.4 because of short journeys to work but now changed job...
Depends what you consider chavvy! My mate has a slightly older A3 than mine and he got an S3 back box with the rest from another company who I can't remember the name of, but it's basically a straight through exhaust system with a removable portion where the cat would be so a cat can be fitted...
Mine is exactly the same, was actually like that when I bought it but just haven't bothered getting a new one because it clears enough for me to see what's behind me. It's a bit of a pain when your car is a little dirty cause it just smears dirt everywhere lol
My washers are the same actually...
I second what JJ said, get the whistle in and it's the easiest 35BHP you'll ever make.
Don't forget to add a bumper sticker, +5 BHP instantly not to mention the aerodynamic gains.
Actually never even considered the starter motor when thinking about the start/stop, you're right it would be absolutely fried after a while. Not to mention the amount of impatient drivers who can't stand the fact that its taken you 4 seconds to move in gridlocked traffic, heaven forbid.. honk honk
If it were me making a personal decision I would be the 1.8, but based on your concerns for MPG etc. I'd certainly go for a 2.0 TDI, jumping from a 1.2 putting out what maybe 90BHP? Just a guess, to a 170BHP 2.0 Diesel is a completely different world! Not to mention the kind of torque figures...
Awesome guys, cheers! Here's hoping for an S4 if there is something wrong with my car haha
@DOM How bad would the smoke on yours be? Mine is seriously noticeable like, ever been driving along the motorway and seen an old Merc smoking like a train? Pretty much like that, maybe a little less...
I'll just have to bring it back, this my only car with a franchised dealer, anyone any experience with these guys? I need to get getting around working the 9-5 so can't afford to be without wheels for a couple of days.
Just recently I've really started noticing a lot of white smoke coming from the exhaust, it's not just because of the cold weather because it's been cold before and never been like this. When idling there's a steady but light stream of white smoke rising which is obviously totally fine, but as...
