Interesting about the Q5, I've noticed mine different when cold. My discovery 3 used to stall if I went from R to D while still rolling. Caught me off guard the 1st time it happened. Not done it with the A3 yet although it felt close a few times.
Thanks also for the shaft info.ð
Pretty sure 1st and reverse are on the same shaft in most cars and have been for a while??
The vid is informative and I have to say it rings perfect with every situation I've been in. I've noticed the lag as Stephen says though. I've also noticed when reversing, say out of a space and then when...
This is a bad fault with the a3, I have a brand new focus that allows me to play music from my iphone 5 via bt and then be connected to my work iphone for calls via bt. Pretty good touch if you ask me. Still have to change between phones for calls though but it's very easy! It reads out texts...
I'm pretty sure the hinges were changed. Someone on here said it's a case of pushing them back down but I recall seeing a new set when I was at the repair garage. They did have to reset the airbag light though. :)
So I'm gutted for your car! It's a real pain in the ***! I put mine on a verge at 2 months old with only 2k on the clock so I feel your pain. Hope it get sorted soon.
Only thing I can not follow you on is bad 4x4 drivers!!!! I've had 9-10 landrovers new and old! Never had an accident! Never hit...
Think I'll have to revert to mechanical adjustment. They weren't this bad though when it was new. Does anyone know the exact positions on the sensors it uses to level the light? Front or rear wishbones, maybe both??
Ok so compare theses pics. They are of my caddy van.
Both are dipped. 1 is lights set at lowest 2 is highest. Now before someone says how much weights in the van. Well pretty much empty. Maybe 100kg max.
My point here is even on the lowest height setting the light is better than my a3. The caddy...
John, agreed :)
It does pull well higher up the range.
Did a test tonight on some nice open but bendy country roads. I drive them a lot and normally I'm in auto on drive select. Tonight still in auto I used the paddles (which I always seem to forget about) and it felt so much more perky! Less...
I have the Quattro tfsi. Got to be honest, love the car to drive and it's nice on motorways when going 50 upwards but it's by no stretch neck snapping. I'm disappointed with the performance. Although with how smooth it is and how you can't feel the speed as in other cars it deceiving. Pull off...
Yep I think so. It's bin 4 weeks since I drove it and I haven't turned the lights on in the dark yet. Stupid as that sounds.
I'm going out soon so I will check if the calibrate. I have turned off adaptive light earlier so I'll do a few checks and report back
Yes but I don't want them to be un leve. if I can do it via plugging it in that's what I'd rather.
Plus it wasn't like this before. Thanks for the info though :)
My theory is. With the recent knock I had, the bonnet hinge restraint things poped hence requiring new ones and then resetting the airbag light. Maybe as it was not done at the dealers the unit they used to reset may have only had the option for normal height suspension. I have the lower SLine...
Trev that's a good point. I do have a buddy who owns a garage, he does MOT's so he has the beam setter. Problem is I now live 200 mile away from him
:( doh
This is my concern as I know how frustrating it is when someone behind has one light higher than the other or if both are set too high it's blinding even more. Will get dealer to sort.
As for the software update for the beam reach. This could be what I need? Ill book in next week and mention...
My guess is is an adjustment that needs doing at the dealer. Just a note. I had an accident in my car at the beginning of jan. Only just had it back. There was no headlight damage or replacement. I'd end up on top of a hedge though. Front bumper replaced and some undercarriage protection...
