not lowered. They are oem parts and i have the same one fitted on the passenger side.
It's doing my head in, would it be caused by the tracking being out or over tightening the nut on the top? or could it be something to do with other worn parts?
I went to get my car tracked today and for the third time I've been told the gaitor on the trackrod has split and I will need a new one. The previous one has only been on there a month!!!

If the op has checked for boost leaks and made sure all the pipe work is in good nick (no splits or cracks) then chances are it is going to the vanes in the turbo jamming and causing either an overboost or underboost. My tdi suffered with this something chronic.

Have you had it scanned for faults? I had a similar issue and the problem turned out to be a wheel speed sensor fault. A much cheaper fix than a new abs pump
The pipe work leading to the washer had become disconnected. Take the boot trim and check the one connected to the motor first, if it's not that one is behind the sub enclosure.
