Hi BarryA4. Yes I did get the bottom of the problem, despite several Audi garages and independent diagnostic experts saying there was no problem or error code. Scans with VCDS came up with the following error code which mystified everybody:
000000 - SAE - Reserved by Document ISO 15031-6...
Hi Shu, yes this issue has been fixed with the EGR valve being deleted/removed. Have you looked at your EGR valve or had it cleaned? There are plenty of posts on this forum explaining how to do this, they get clogged up easily. Mine had been cleaned out twice and was still being problematic so I...
Hi everyone, I posted a few weeks ago about the problems I was experiencing with my B7 A4 TDI 170 s-line quattro special edition.
I had rough/lumpy idle, excessive black smoke, hesitation/flat spots, rough running and a very weird error code (000000 - SAE - Reserved by Document ISO 15031-6)...
Hi, I thought I'd post the resolution to this strange error code in case anybody else has the same issue. I had my car remapped on Saturday by Rick at Unicorn Motor Developments including DPF and EGR removal/delete. Rick has done a great job, it's now the car Audi should have made!
Rick...
I've just replaced my 2.0 TDi 140 A3 for a 2.0 TDi 170 A4. I love the car but had I known about the 'real world' fuel consumption of the TDi 170 beforehand I would probably not have discounted the 3.0 engine so quickly!
I'm under the impression that if it's been mapped out then as far as the ECU is concerned it doesn't exist, it doesn't try to operate it. With regards to blanking it off, I think this is done if the EGR is physically left in situ because there's no point having air circulating round redundant...
I honestly don't know, is there an easy way of finding out? I've only had the car for 6 weeks and although I know the service history I don't know if the previous owner has done anything else to it.
I don't understand that either - if the EGR has been deleted in a remap then the ECU shouldn't be trying to operate it. Has it been blanked out but not deleted from the engine map?
Bought it from a dealer but they've already taken it to Audi and an independent garage and both have said there's nothing wrong with it even though they admit it smokes a lot and has a lumpy idle. Now I fear they may have been looking at the wrong part of the car though!
One garage thought my symptoms might have been the egr cooler - lumpy idle, rough running, excessive smoke - so it might not be beyond the realms of possibility on your car.
. . . and not in a welcome or useful way! I've had the car scanned with VCDS to try and get to the bottom of some problems that nobody can seem to solve. So, expecting (and hoping for) an error code to reveal something insightful I get this:
000000 - SAE - Reserved by Document ISO 15031-6
P0000...
I'm not sure he has yet. It would be just my luck to get an error code that isn't listed anywhere, I was so hoping to get a definitive answer to my car problem!
Hi everyone,
N8 very kindly scanned my car for error codes to try and get to the bottom of a problem that's mystifying all of the mechanics I know. The error codes were as follows:
000000 - SAE - Reserved by Document ISO 15031-6
P0000 - 006 - 2005 - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status...
