Strange behavior since visiting the dealership!

Harold Wood has been a joke for servicing and general hopelessness, there was a guy at Southend Audi that went to Harold Wood, Tim something, the service advisor ... cannot remember his last name; but he was really good and knew what was going on in a car and asked the techs the right questions...

    Audi A3 BKD 140 Clutch/DMF Replacement Cost

Considering Audi want £799 (fixed price servicing on there website), I would be curious on the costs from a independent doing it; mainly as a worry on mine, as I am coming up to 120k this week original clutch. There is also 4Rings in Dartford, done a few bits on a mates RS.

    Upgrading to an A6

So based on that thought then ... with a little Google-ing later once I'm not of work ... the 208/218/245/272 would all be on a the S-Tronic, then the 313/320 would be the BiTurbo Tiptronic. The facelift doesn't seem to be all that, a few little gimmicks with the lights and a base spec bump...

    Upgrading to an A6

Not to thread hijack, but add some thoughts, as I am thinking of moving from my A3 8P to either an A3 8V or A6 C7; the whole looking for a car that you can hang onto for 5 years and wont need to worry about the need for something bigger. The A6 just seems like a lovely option, be gone the days...

    Best Tyres for a Quattro

Michelin Pilot Sport 3, or the new Pilot Sport 4 (better grip a little more green than the 3) Goodyear F1's people rave about them a little, never had a set so cannot say much on them Continental Contact Sport 5 or whatever they are up to isn't a bad tyre, just a bit naff when compared to a...

    New mitchelins

Can then even be brought yet? Not actually seen any for sale, as they only started to come out this month. Although would be good to know peoples thoughts on them in comparison to another tyre.

    Cleaning fuel injectors TDI

parts department? Although you will also need new injector bolts, they are one use stretch bolts.

Lacking power at low revs TDI 2.0 BKD

Sounds like a split hose or loose connection. Know what you mean about the PCV system, going to look into hooking up a catch can system to try and minimise the amount that blows though, is just horrible, makes you want to clean the whole system, a high miles engine must have more oil in the...

Where to buy wing mirror lower trim part?

Considering Audi parts departments are now not giving out part numbers; is the only place for it without ETKA :rage:

Where to buy wing mirror lower trim part?

number 2 on this list?? https://www.partsbase.org/audi/audi-a3-s3-sportback-qu-a3-eu-2010-85745-interior-exterior-mirror/ Audi should have these, only reason I know; as I replaced mine when someone done the same to me on the driver side; the mirror housing is amazingly robust to abuse!

    Cleaning fuel injectors TDI

All of the hoses are very easy to put back on after, people moan about the hose clips coming off all the time, but the design makes it very easy to take off and put back on. You literally cannot put it on the wrong way. As will all hoses, just a run around with a cloth on the hose and the place...

    Snow joke

ESP is normally best to turn off, plus pulling the fuse on the ABS pump. Had a loverly scare once in a Golf, ABS decided that even with a little bit of light braking it was loosing control and went mental pumping the brakes, causing me to traverse a roundabout in a full 360 degree spin. slow...

    Silver cars are boring!

To be honest (after just changing from a dark wheel colour to a more OE silver) thinking it is nice to have some silver wheel action; everyone is going black/matt black/titanium/etc. So makes for a nice change, the body trims can then be any colour you like and it just goes, but you cannot...

    How high is your mileage?

Indeed, so gently last few miles home, no steaming up to the car park and turning it off as you get there; probably isn't required, but just mechanical sympathy.

    How high is your mileage?

07 A3 TDI 140(BKD) 118k Mapped and regular servicing, new turbo 40k ago, boost hoses replaced recently. Little guy gets beat on quite happily, plus loves a long jaunt to the lakes or Scotland! Just as all others mentioned, let it cool down before putting it away. The people that never service...

REVO stage 1 on later 2015 models.

Well technically the number that have been quoted there are right once you add on VAT; coming to £1137.72 Is annoying when companies quote minus VAT

    From S3 to A3 2.0 tdi?

Is that real world calculated (fill up across a tank, litres put in to miles done) or from the trip computer? As the trip computer is a little liar :) Also what is it like around town for mpg? As my 2.0TDI (non scandal engine) does around 50mpg and i am fairly happy with that, but wouldn't be...

    Modding advice

you don't need the shark fin though ... can just get a gps antenna that goes in the dash ... i forget the part number but it just a cable with a large block on the end; to fit a shark fin you will need to cut in to your roof!

10mm front, 15mm, rear, the rears look freaking massive on the hubs ... Something i need to do is skim them down a couple of mm; they do catch on big depressions. Was funny on the way to Le Manns last year with a boot full of camping stuff and beer
