    Baby seats - travel systems

Plagiocephaly is the technical term for flat head syndrome. Can be caused by laying babies on backs generally, not just car seats. Has become more common apparently (but still fairly rare I imagine) because of the recommended practise of putting babies on their backs to avoid SIDS (cot death)...

    Baby seats - travel systems

[ QUOTE ] The best model for Children from 0kg was the Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix (£160 with Easyfix base from John Lewis), with the Britax Cosy Tot Isofix (£200 from Halfords) in second place. [/ QUOTE ] Useful info, thanks Dave. At the risk of fanning the flames of the debate on cost vs safety...

    Baby seats - travel systems

Yes please let us know how you get on. Mamas and Papas don't seem to do ISOFIX though (for infant carriers - up to 9/12 months - they might do for larger baby seats from 9/12 months onwards) so not sure what they've got lined up for you. If you look on their website, they only do 1 infant...

    Baby seats - travel systems

Cheers for your comments Bowfer. I agree that I think the saleswoman was being a bit strict. She actually did manage to fit the Mamas and Papas car seat in the front and back of my car but she claimed that it wasn't as secure as it should be so said we should look elsewhere.... That's good to...

    Baby seats - travel systems

**Don't bother reading if baby/kid's stuff bores you senseless** We have been looking at baby seats and travel systems to fit into my car and in my wife's (Peugeot 206). We did quite like the Mamas and Papas 3 in 1 travel system but were very surprised when on trying to fit the Primo Vaggio...

    A year old ............

[ QUOTE ] the recent weather has shown me that 4wd is absolutely magic, even if it is for a tiny proportion of the year. [/ QUOTE ] Are the rumours of constant rain in Scotland a myth then...? I anticipate my 4wd coming in handy long in to the summer here in the South - especially during...

    Help with my colour choice!!!

I went from a brilliant black audi to a lava grey one. The black was a real badger to keep clean. The pearlescent paint makes a huge difference - allows the light to shine through the dirt....I only clean my car every few months or so now.

    Insurance... due soon

Websites like confused and money supermarket make certain "assumptions" when they process the quote which can mean the quoted price isn't the final price if you see what I mean. You then need to click through the link and correct/fill in all the details on the relevant company's site to get the...

    Insurance... due soon

For a while I used to use the triumverate of Belldirect, Elephant and Admiral. Just moved from one to the other at renewal because the renewal quote was never as good as the new customer quote from each. Soon as I hit 30 though they became uncompetitive for me. Couldn't fault their claims...

Use moneysupermarket.com for another comparison website (this may be part of insurancesupermarket.com that d3fy mentioned). Have always found them to throw up some good deals.

I think AMd retro fit cruise control for VAG cars. Surely the lights on the vanity mirrors can be retro fitted too...?

    Launch Controll Question

Given that 3.2s have quattro I can't see that LC would offer much of a benefit either. I wonder if it might be more useful on a non-quattro 2.0T that has DSG - whether it removes the margin for driver error/exuberance/wheel spin/donuts...?

    Aluminium pedals

I like em too. Seems potty/stingy that they don't come as standard in A3 sport models. My worry with installing something like that myself is getting stuck halfway through and not being able to drive the thing somewhere to have it finished...

    Quattro question

Indeed, although Audi have yet to be persuaded to adopt the 'correct' terminology. Not sure whether it applies to all quatto fitted Audis but you used to be able to disengage the system by putting the handbrake on the first notch, to have it stuck on FWD. Quite why you would want to do that is...

    Quattro question

I think Audi have always described quattro as permanent because it kicks in automatically (can't switch it yourself as per Land Rovers or whatever).
