    My Audi so far

Well guys after a few issues with the car and a change in personal situations, i have decided my time with the audi has come to an end. She,s gone and i have joined the dark side! Thanks to those that helped and took an interest in this thread! But this is the end!

    Dreaded number plate screws.....

A small slit on the housing is fine by me, my logic was 1. You cant see it anyway and 2. Less risky than drilling/ buggering the whole trim Depends how bothered you are about something only you would know was there i suppose

    Dreaded number plate screws.....

I used a small cutting disc on a dremel, cut a slot and unscrewed with a flat blade screwdriver

    What would you do

    What would you do

Ah my apologies! That might hinder you just a tad! As a personal thing i'd be struggling between heart and head, i love the way the a4 drives and looks, i dont have a 3.0 but have wanted one since before i bought mine! But im dure if i did the heart would say fix it, but the head would say...

    What would you do

On a personal front, if i had the money+space, id buy something cheap as a run around, take the a4 off the road and start doing the work myself, rather than pay £2500 on a car thats worth £5000 plus the fact you've spent £2500 already. That way you'll learn about the car more, you'll know...

How do I lower my b7?

Exactly this, it all just seems unnecassary work if all you're doing is swapping the shock/spring. Ajax i think it was a comment i saw from you that made me use a strap! Cheers chappy!

How do I lower my b7?

I didnt touch any of the control arms at all, I weaved a ratchet strap through the coils (mainly because its easier to access that area with a strap than with compressors) un did the shock at the bottom, compressed the spring with the ratchet strap, un-done the 3 top mount bolts and Swing the...

How do I lower my b7?

This is a very long way round and i guarantee that those upper control arm bolts will not move, as i said above, no touchy! Its easy for these guys because im sure they dissassemble all of the parts before the video is made, its a bit deceptive in how easy they make it look!

How do I lower my b7?

Thanks Ajax! It astounds me the amount of people (including mechanics) that do this wrong! The pinch bolts are on the upper 'control arm' not the shock? They are not connected! Btw you'll need a ratchet strap or very manouverable spring compressors and the backs were a b!tch on mine to do!

How do I lower my b7?
