you will need the high version of the MMI2 for the touch to work, I dont think that is the version you have.
A scan with VCDS etc will show if the component protection is activated.
you have the Audi Sound System by the sounds of it. There is no amp for this and upgrading to the MMI2 removes...
that's a shame RE the price. I fancied the RS3 FL style grill pattern for my pre FL car but hadn't seen it when looking. Could only see the older style diamond hatch. Last week I upgraded to ACC so now have a hole in my grill & I've never seen a PFL RS3 style grill with radar hole.
if it's the pins on the actual unit then that's a bit of a problem. It would require soldering new pins onto the board assuming you can buy the bits needed.
BMW cars block too. I'm sure VAG and BMW recommends a certain type of screen wash that prevents them blocking. Fords it's the filter that blocks at the pump. I had my car for a year before I realised it had 6 jets. I blew the airline down mine to clear them
I found hardest part was getting through bulkhead. I've rhd A3 and I had to poke a welding rod through from the engine bay through to the cabin as there is insulation hiding the channel.
If it worked after recharge and stopped getting cold it's most likely leaking. you wouldn't get a warning light etc but I would expect the red light not to stay on. ATS can put a dye in the system which with aid of UV light can show where a leak is.
it all comes down to how deep are your pockets lol.
I'm not sure it would be worth the cost going to MMI 1 high as you wouldn't get much more functions as compared to the MMI 2 high. The fakra connector to screen needs a slight trim to fit.
I went from my 2015 MMI standard to the facelift MMI...
ignore me, skim reading lol.. yes, S3 and RS3 doesn't but the TT does indeed have aluminium arms.
8S0 407 151 D is the part number for both sides as its mirrored. Looks like £170.17+vat each.
