Help needed what is this pipe??

Not sure which pipe you're referring to there. If it's the one located in the middle of the picture that appears to be touching a bracket AND if the picture has been taken from the underside of the car (8P TDI), then it looks like an oil return pipe to me (from turbo to engine), but that...

    Tyre selection

Come to this late, but can vouch for Falken brand. I replaced all 4 on my 8P 5k miles ago and they seem to be holding-up really well. Plenty of wet and dry weather grip, even wear, reasonable M-way noise and 4 tyres, plus 4 wheel alignment at £382. Saved me the inconvenience of donating a...

New Turbo... Best Method of Priming?

Thanks for that. In terms of cranking the engine to draw oil through the oil return, how do you do that - remove fuse, or some other way? If you do, which fuse is it?

New Turbo... Best Method of Priming?

Are you saying that you manually fill the turbo and oil feed line with oil, connect it and crank the engine until oil runs from the return? Do you remove the fuel pump fuse?

New Turbo... Best Method of Priming?

New turbo has been hand-filled with oil, now just the matter of priming the lines, etc. Can anyone advise - the fitting guide says to immobilise engine (remove fuel pump fuse), manually crank engine until oil flows out of oil feed line - BEFORE FITTING THE TURBO. Then to fit turbo, connect oil...

Audi A3 engine light and rough idle

Mine's the 2.0 TDI model (8P), but rough idle is a pretty common issue through several models. As above, I'd clean the EGR assembly, inlet manifold (several good threads here - 'search' should help), then think about the injector wiring loom. That's where I'm at, anyway.

2.0 TDi Injector Wiring Loom... How To?

Thanks tdi-man... I assumed there'd be a lot more to the job than that. Happy days.

BKD Re-manufactured Turbo... Where to Buy?

I'm in Magor, Monmouthshire. Uncomfortable opting for an unknown quantity on eBay, then encountering possible issues down the line.

BKD Re-manufactured Turbo... Where to Buy?

Needing to replace the OEM Garrett unit on my 2.0 TDI 140 with a re-manufactured Garrett item... can anyone recommend a supplier? There are quite a few listed on eBay, but buying 'blind' through eBay just feels risky. Thanks again.

GUIDE: How to remove turbo and clean 'sticky' vane, which causes overboost

Excellent guide to DIY turbo removal. Why does the Haynes manual specify that the RHS drive shaft needs to be removed to access the turbo (for removal) and that the turbo and manifold CANNOT be separated (2.0 Tdi 140 BKD)?

Cleaning air intake manifold... what to use - Mr Muscle?

Thanks Simon... I've reassembled the manifold/throttle actuator/EGR now and she's running OK. The manifold wasn't in too bad a state (compared to some of the pictures posted on this site), but next on the to-do list is definitely an EGR bypass and re-code - after I've replaced the noisy turbo...

    ENGINE LIGHT

As pluves1 says... that particular warning light relates to the emission control system - I had the same thing happen with my 2.0 Tdi last week. Having connected-up a code reader I discovered that the throttle actuator module had failed/jammed (thankfully in the open position). There could be...
