Hi guys. I have a 2008 Audi S3. At around 75-85mph there is a whine from the back end. It only happens when I touch the throttle on the run down it won't do it. After 85 it goes away.
The car had a new diff under warranty by audi about 1000 miles ago. Genuine oil and never made this noise...
No problem. Mine has been mapped stage 1. I think i will remove the oil filter. Catch the oil that drops in a clean catch tray , new one in then top it off with the oil. Peace of mind.
Does anyone know the intervals between Audi services. I.e how long will an oil filter usually last for ? I serviced it tonight after 4,800 miles. But forgot to replace the filter. Should this be okay for another 5k ?
Bit embarrassing that it took a panel beater (me) to show the VW master tech the difference between a Haldex and a Diff. Specially when the have Auto data system showing them the plugs to remove if there not too sure. Yeah the Audi will feel like a veyron once I get back in it.
It's sorted, the dealer got the Haldex and diff mixed up, drained the diff and filled it with Haldex oil. Drove it for 120 miles thinking it was an electrical buzz, It was the diff bearings and cogs slowly dieing. The dealer finally owned uo to there mistake after I explained what they has done...
Put my 2008 S3 in for a Haldex service on Saturday morning with VW branch. On the drive home there was a loud buzz/whine coming from the rear. Then went away and now it's a steady whine, not as loud but still noticeable. Around 35-40 mph it happens when I very lightly touch the pedal. They...
I'm going for either 6-8 pots. For function and show. Just don't fancy the 4 pots.
One member managed to fit R8 8 pots to his S3 with standard 18" wheels. Just needed bell housing adjustments and custom carriers. I've emailed N8 to try find out about DaveB as he was the one who managed it.
I...
Hi guys,
I bought a set of Porsche Cayenne Callipers for my 2008 S3. But unfortunately I bought them before really reading into the set up. It look to be very costly and so much footering about to make them fit. Lots of custom stuff, and I just don't have time to get it done.
I've heard that...
I have a 2008 S3 with standard 18" wheels. I'm buying a pair of Porsche cayenne (18z) callipers this week. Also a set of ml450 discs (350mm). I've been trying to find out for ages if this is a straight bolt on kit ?? Do I need spacers to clear the inside face of the wheel? I hear this is a...
Yeah hopefully the offset etc is all okay. My friend an rs4 and managed to get z18 brembos under his 18s. Last thing I want is start buying wheels etc. Going to be an expensive month lol. Will keep the post updated with my findings.
I've dropped N8 a message asking the same question. I read about the z18 and gl450 discs on another post. Guy said they bolt straight on. Just want to 100% check everything before I buy the calipers, discs and pads. Get them powder coated and fit out they don't fit lol. S
Hi everyone, buying myself some 6 pots this week need to know some info
i have a 2008 8p s3 with standard 18" wheels. I read that Porsche cayenne z18 brake calipers bolt right on. And I can then run GL450 discs (350mm). Can anyone confirm this, do I need adapters and spacers? Looking for the...
Brilliant mate. I've message a guy on eBay with a set of TTRS discs and calipers. He's sending me a picture tomorrow next to an iPhone just to give me a size comparison. What's the most I should pay for these, mind they are used.
Looking to upgrade my brakes, I am running standard 18" wheels. What's the biggest size I can go for. Caliper and disc size? So I can search different companies, wilwood , Porsche etc.
