    Make sure you see it start from cold. Preferable after it has been sitting all night, should start within half a turn!. Listen for knocking noises from the front suspension. Sorry , don't know much about auto boxes.

    The ABS is self testing everytime the ignition is switched on , it does'nt need reset by vag-com.

    Check you have'nt fitted the new sensor the close to the "ring". Try pulling it back out very slightly. Does the ABS light clear on the dash then come back on again once the car is moving above 10mph?

    A4 rear axle bushes.

    To remove the old bushes I burnt the rubber out of the middle then using a chissel , bent the inner side of the sleeve inwards to form a lip to give me something to hammer a large socket against to drive the sleeve out. (Poor description). Came out quite easily.

    No fancy tools required, just some spanners and a hammer!!. Took about 2Hrs.

    Bushes now changed, an absolute doddle to change , totally transformed the handling.

    I'm about to change the rear bushes on my A4 Avant for the same reason. Jack the rear of the car up and check them for wear.

    Thanks for the +ve comments, I never set out to buy a white one , it just stood out in the Autotrader and I had to have it.

    Fallmonk, the old MK2 is a 4 door next door use as a runaround, they are currently building a 5 linked mexico, can't see it in the picture, but it looks the "dogs".
