Hi everyone I've got an 8p 55 plate 2.0tdi sportback. When I turn on the ignition, before starting my oil lights don't come on. Should they? Every other car I've had they'be come on. My oil pressure light flashes when I start the car and drive for a minute, I know, I've got a problem! Thanks

Yeah, got the belt, two idlers, tensioner and water pump. I've got the cam locking tools so i think i've got it covered. Just wondering if anyone had managed to make the job easier. Cheers

Going to give audi a call tomorrow, see what they say. Got power steering issues as well. Any idea how easy it is to see the steering rack wiring and rack connection?

So I'm revisiting an old post since my power steering light has come on again! It hasn't come on since June, since Audi reset the faults. i never did get round to checking the wiring or connections. How easy is it to check, would i need to remove anything to check it out?? Thanks

Yeah, hope you're right. They said they'd probably need to take it to Audi for a second opinion.

So i'm taking my car to Arnold Clark on Monday. I've got their autocare for a year, still covered until august. Not convinced that they'll actually honor it. It covers mechanical power steering but not electric power steering! Good chance they're going to screw me over!

That's what i thought. I used to match and mix paint in a previous job and the amount of variants of one colour code is ridiculous!

Thanks guys. I'm in Aberdeen. No pics yet, need to get the wing re-painted. Currently trying to sort through a few issues with it. Got a new timing belt kit and water pump to fit, sort out the PAS, discs and pads and other bits a bob's! It's an expense!!

I'm in Aberdeen. I'm not going to change it out till its totally gone! I've never lost power assist just the light flashes on every so often! I'm going to check the wiring in the next few days hopefully its something there but im not holding my breath!

I tried reseting the fault codes while the the power steering light was off but they wouldn't clear. If it was a wiring issue surely the faults would clear?

I've been meaning to check that for a while, i'll need to get round to it soon! If it's not the wiring which i hope it is, what could else could the issue be? I'm hoping not a rack replacement!
