Hi,
At last some one with the same problem as me... 05 3.0lTDI, Already had all the injectors replaced (as I had the dreaded smoking ppl to death at idle in traffic).
Exactly the same issue... if I do daily trips I can drive it all day no problem -if I stop for a hour or so -(or do multiple...
Oh well - do I have enough time to write about this saga :)
Its now december.. I have had all of the injectors replaced as 5 out of the 6 were knackered and I was causing a mountain of smoke when idling in traffic on the motorway - so thats all fixed but I stil have the flashing glowplug light...
Thanks.. for that as well.. I had never looked at the wiki on the Rosstech site :)
I am hoping the Boost issue is due to the Turbo controller one.. from googling around the web it seems the Actuator is a possible culprit.
Well its been a quiet year (well since I tried to drown the car last July) - but clearly those days are gone for now.
The Glowplug light started flashing the other day whilst driving.. got it home scanned it.. looks like a electrical fault with the turbo..
Cleared it and took it out again...
I doubt you will do any harm if you are hand polishing..
My A4 is a bit of a mess.. looks good from a distance.. but lots of scratches/dings and stone chips. If I do give it the full treatment I usually use some chemical brothers glaze/and Collinite wax.
Maybe the Poorboys blackhole would be...
Thanks guys.. I just noticed I was missing these one some of my wheels... so ordered a bundle from stock audi!
btw if you need the little plastic tongs to get the covers off the nuts.. it was 94p from TPS
Cheers
Matt
Manual or Triptronic ? I was under the impression that the Quattro and transmission (on the auto) were sealed and not to touch it.. unlike say the Haldex on the TT's etc etc..
Though I seemed to have read conflicting advice.. when I last rang the stealer about a service and asked they said...
Just to resurrect an old thread... and wish I had seen this first (or listened to my mate in Audi parts) - got both the left and right covers and neither fit the 3.0 TDI. Both would need some chopping up to fit round the additional pipe work.
2 more bits to go in the odds and sods box :)
Parts...
yeah mine does as well.. thats just what the Mk2 shows.. though I would be interested in how they fitted it.. as for my mk2 I had to get the faceplate transfered from the Mk1..
An update as some time has now passed... no more errors on VCDS, car runs like a dream... Also on the same day I had 2 parking sensor fitted by Nigel, and as usual it had to be one in the back and one on the front just to make it more complicated.
All fitted (and painted) - error codes gone...
Actual driving.. around 30mpg for short runs.. 45mpg for cruising motorways..and then downhill when you really put your foot down :)
Just going to the station and back (8 miles each way) I am getting about 400 miles to the tank.. closer to 600 if I am doing a longer motorway based trek)-
