No, manual.
It's not bad. Just at very low revs. The stock engine is strong in the mid range, which makes it more noticeable.

I think I might have caused some confusion with my earlier comments. The comment about turbo lag was on the stock 140ps engine.
I'm very happy with the 1.4 when it's got the box on. My only reason for regret is that it pushes my insurance up more than if I had an S3.
I'd also quite like...
I found that map 2 would occasionally cause an emissions warning and instant limp mode (only when flooring it to the red line). Restarting the engine would clear it and there was nothing left in the OBD logs.
So I switched to map 1 at +3. Plenty of oomph and not a single warning since [emoji3]
My box is in front of the battery, strapped to the wash bottle filler pipe. Cables pass under intake ducting so might touch warm metal, but nothing as hot as the turbo. Not seen any signs of heat damage and they are away from any moving parts.

There's been a few changes to the lineup since I ordered. My 1.4 is 140ps stock. It's fairly torquey for a petrol and adequate for town driving although sometimes the turbo lag can catch you out. The current 1.4 is 150ps so should be quite good for 30/40/50 limit areas.
A lot is what you're...
My commute is 50% motorway and most of the rest is derestricted single/dual carriageway. I'm pretty happy with the performance of the 1.4 with the tuning box, but it does irk me that the insurance is higher than for an S3 (that's because only a subset of insurers will even quote for mods). I...
Legally it's pretty difficult for them to turn down a warranty claim, especially if they only suspect you've been tinkering.
After 2+ years and 4 services I've not had any problems. I take the kit off before taking it in, which I've gotten quicker at. As far as I know they don't suspect...
I'm no lawyer nor accountant but I suspect this may be a SOX requirement. If they said the connect services would be available forever then that would be an open ended liability. So they quite probably intend to provide it well beyond three years but they won't put that in writing.
The watch face is available for all android wear watches. It's included in the MMI connect app. Unfortunately the layout is broken on the Moto 360 so I had to make my own version.

A3 with DA pack delivered last September. Got the domed sensor. Only able to set the speed up to 100mph.
I prefer the aesthetics of the dome, and I like the idea of longer range. Not bothered about being able to set cruise to over 100mph.
I don't know how to say this without sounding patronising so apologies in advance.
The problem seems to be changing down a gear whilst still in a bend. Generally you should be in a gear at the start of a bend that you can stay in all the way through and for the first bit of acceleration coming...
The ECU is only one of at least a dozen processors in an A3. The one that does the image processing for lane guidance, speed limit display and high beam assist is pretty powerful. There is plenty of processing power to pick from a few different maps based on some statistics about the recent...
