My A4 TDi has started to rev at about 3000 rpm for a second or so after restarting from warm. It doesn't do it all the time probably once a week.
There are no other symptoms. The car has done 152,000 miles since new 2002 so I'm thinking maybe leaking injector(s).
Any idea what else may...
Happens to me a lot. Bit peed off as the amount of times it has happened the locating pegs have marked the carpet and plastic now.
What I have found is that the end part of the shelf is quite heavy and out of balance, it seems to tip down near the rear door. When you hit a bump it tilts that...
Due to a possible house purchase I've decided that I may have to keep my current A4 Avant 1.9TDi for a couple of years more.
The car has done a hassle free 150K since I bought it new in 2003 and is tidy enough for me to hang on to. The problem is that the suspension has gone very wallowy...
Thanks for replies. Just after any hidden things to look for. Last thing I want is to find I need a Audi only tool after getting the box of or something.
Cheers
The clutch on my 2002 A4 109TDi Avant feels like it is on its way out. Pedal operates quite high and I'm sure I can here the engine revs raising quicker than normal during hard acceleration.
I'm planning to do this myself and with the lack of a Haynes manual for this year/model I'm looking...
I have an 02 Audi A4 100 TDi and been doing all my own servicing. It's just dawned on me that I've done nothing with the particulate filter on this car and at 140K maybe it needs doing.
But, does it have a prticulate filter? If so, how do I service it....is it a fluid top up?
thanks
Ok. well, it sound like an all dayer so will get everything done in one including tensioners etc. Can't seem to find a Haynes manual for this model, would have been nice to have it to refer to.
Thanks for advice.
Had car looked at on Friday. Air Con guy connected up some hoses and opened a valve, found some gas still left in the system so looked hopefull.
He did a load of stuff with gauges and weights, re gassed and air con started working.
Performed a leak test around all components, meter started...
Hi, I've decided it's time to change the cam belt on my car seeing as it's now115k on the original one!
I'm going to do the job myself so looking for any advice on the job such as the need for specialist tools etc. I use the car constantly so can't afford to have it sitting in my workshop due...
Got it booked in with a aircon specialist. He's going to vacuum the system @ £35 and then if there are no leaks regas it with a total cost of £75.
I'm doing 45k per year in the car with the aircon always on so I'm hoping this just needs a regas.
Thanks
Bit extra info. In past cars with air con I noticed a clicking sound and a slight change in revs when switching air conditioning on and off.
I've not heard anything like this on my Audi. Is suppoed to change engine revs when switched on/off?
Hi, I have a problem with my air conditioning system, when set the air flow to "Lo" I get nothing but warm air from the vents etc. which is unbearable in the warm weather.
Anything I can look for before having to send the car to a repairer and face a hefty bill?
Any help appr. Thanks
I've posted regarding this question before but can't find the original message so apologies for opening a new thread.
I have a 2002 A4 Avant TDi which originally has had its electric windows and wing mirrors fail. I have been reading up on the Internet and have discovered that the control box...
While trying to sort out a electric window/mirrors and interior light problem I decided to see if reseting the ECUs on the car by disconnecting the battery would help solve the problem.
After reconnecting and driving the car I found it quite a lot more responsive. Any reason for this?
Thanks
Update. this continued after a short pause. The final source of the problem was due to a sticking brake pedal that would not fully return to release the brake lamp switch, this left the brake lamps on for long periods which the ESP system thought was wrong.
No problems since sorting out pedal
Had the exact same problems with my 307. Of the 13 months I owned the car it was in the garage for 6 of them. Had to do 1100 miles a week to work in a crappy 1.4 loaner.
Final "trial and error" fix from Peugeot was to replace the catalytic convertor as they had mistakenly put a 1.4 unit on...
Thanks for the help all.
I've checked the fuses (after finding them). And the ones marked for this unit appear ok. I'll have look for the controller tomorrow. Had a quick look tonight before it got too dark and suspect I have to rase the carpet to get to it.
At least the window is only down...
Thanks for reply Lon.
Sounds expensive. Car no longer under warranty, ran out 2 months ago (typical). If a spare unit can be found can this be fitted without going to a garage. i.e - does it need configuring for the car?
Also, does anyone know where this module is so that I can check for...
Hi, I've been using my A4 Avant this morning and after parking up with the drivers windows slightly open I now find I can not close it. I am also unable to open the passenger side window, adjust electric wing mirrors and the interior light & both map lights stay on if engine is running and doors...
