Thanks for all the replies, so as long as it's drives ok and I get it serviced asap the fact it passed it service interval by 8k shouldn't be an issue? (I'm reading that the interval is 38,000 and the car is on 46)

Is a private sale so I doubt I could make it a condition of the sale, I don't mind getting t done myself as the car is well priced. I'm mostly concerned that I'll end up with a problematic gearbox on my hands later down the line

I've just had a look on the parkers website for facts and figures and it reckons the tfsi and the tdi 140 are the same weight as on supplier sold 2 different spring sets for the a3 2wd 8p one was for below 1020kg and the other was for above.

Ok had a look on H&R and they do seem to bundle them in together, i.e 2wd, 4cyl and tdi: Audi || Suspension Applications || H&R Special Springs, LP.

Cheers chaps I've had a look at a few H&R suppliers websites and they seem to just offer one package for the whole 8p range so i'm assuming they will fit based on that?

Quick question, might be a daft one. A mate has some h&r springs off his s line tfsi will they fit my s line tdi or are they different due to the heavier Diesel engine?

Update for you, the garage i bought the car from have very kindly taken it back and sent it away to their local audi specialist FOC and after 2 weeks they have found the problem, it was the injector seals so they are being referbed and I should hopefully be getting the car back on weds...

Ok that's deffinately worth a go as we get our fuel delivered and have a tank at home (5 diesel vehicles at home) from an independent supplier so I'll get the tank run down and fill it at the local shell station.
