    S-tronic Owners - Manual Mode

using the brake in an S-Tronic is the same as riding the clutch in a manual, is it not ?

Hard wiring a dashcam, which fuse?

A spare one. Don't put the load on an existing circuit, when there are lots of spare positions in the fuse box would be my advice.

    Running in your new S4...

Sat round the back of the dealers playing with buttons etc. and let it warm up, then drove it fairly hard (30 miles) Mine had 8 miles on it at pick up and there is approx. 20 miles to bed the piston bore honing and rings in which need full torque and reasonable RPM......apparently :) 6K on, and...

    Keef’s S4 10k review

I agree, no need to go into too much sycophantic detail with the S4, just drive the mutha :-) I'm on 6.5K in mine since the end of March, and I too ****** love it ! Such a good car - does everything sooo well, from a comfy commute to full on tarmac terrorist. Brilliant car, brilliant engine...

    S4 security upgrade

Or disconnect the main earth strap on top of the gearbox (or high current switch it). Starter will not work without that, but everything does.

Tyres - I'm losing the plot big time help needed

38psi front and 34psi rear seems to be the sweet spot on my S4. SC3's on 19's and yes they tramline like a ******. Will go PS3 when the time comes, always found them a great all round tyre in the past.

Spacesaver on S4 - OK on Front ?

cheers @opelfruit Bit of a pain to say the least, but should be repairable by the looks of it (centre of tyre in thick tread pattern). If not every cloud has a (very expensive) silver lining, as I then have an excuse to ditch the SC3's tramliners :-)

Spacesaver on S4 - OK on Front ?

Thanks @Hear-Vier - off to jack the S4 up now...... I might be tempted to leave a passenger or some luggage instead, lol

Spacesaver on S4 - OK on Front ?

Arrrgh - got to work this morning to find a hoofing great screw in my front offside tyre. Trying to pull it out was accompanied by a hissing sound.....******. So, I am going to have to stick the spacesaver (10 miles at slow speed of course) on to get me home later, and sort the tyre out...

S4 - Manual or Auto choice

I would definitely advocate test driving an S4 with the charged V6, before looking at the S3 option :-)

S4 - Manual or Auto choice

Agreed, not sure how/why you would heel toe a DSG as the brake over-rides the throttle (except launch) ?

    S4 - 'D' and 'S' modes

    yes, realistically fake :-)

S4 - Manual or Auto choice

I believe that the upshift exhaust 'coughs' are exclusive to the direct shift gearbox (S-Tronic).

    S4 - 'D' and 'S' modes

It's a great area for debate. The Audi system is not 'fake' like some others, in the fact that it amplifies the actual engine sound into the cabin, so real in that sense. But then it is not pure engine sound as it is electronically 'assisted'......
