Hi Folks,
Having played the Carwow game then spoken to a few dealers, I thought I would ask on here about the current wait times for RS3 Sportback's. Has anyone placed an order in the last few weeks/month and been given a firm build time?
I'm told I can put a deposit down then my car will...
Hi Folks,
I eventually got my 2.0tdi/150bhp S Line remapped (after the long wait for the software to be written!) and a year down the line I love the 196bhp/301 lb/ft but even more the stupidly good economy I get - over 60mpg on motorway runs now are achievable which is nuts!
Anyway I want to...
Ive never had issues with a professional remap done on the rollers by a company I trust. I'd far rather the ECU was reprogrammed at source than the signals altered by a plug in box. Bizarrely given the price of your box a professional remap on the rollers is actually cheaper! I've had a string...
I'm being told development on the software to crack the new ECU's for engine remaps is almost complete and they are expecting a release in March/April.
Hope its true as it can't come soon enough, almost taken mine back to Audi to part exchanged for an A4 3.0 Tdi 245!
??? The torque on a remapped diesel comes in much earlier and MUCH bigger! Have a look at before and after maps and you'll see! Blimey if it did anything detrimental to my torque I would steer well clear!
If a 184 was available when I bought mine in March I would have bought one.
Not everyone wants or can afford two cars so I'll stick with a best of both worlds remapped diesel, I'm slightly too long in the tooth to try racing expensive petrol sports cars but a 200bhp diesel with over 300lb/ft...
The tamper proof grub screws on the ecu cage are obtained and stocked by a few tuners. I was told by Audi that unless its an ECU issue they will stand by the warranty if I went for a remap so I'm happy to take that small chance for massive performance gains. Audi won't void the whole warranty...
I would have had mine done immediately with delivery mileage on it and know a few that have done just that. Nothing in the manuals I saw about the long running in period you used to have and was told engines aren't the same as they used to be in that regard.
Audi leant me that car when the delivery of mine was delayed and I was quite impressed with it. The gains are never as much as with diesel lumps but for the right price it's worth it. I worked out it would take around 20
months to pay for a remap on my old FR with the saving in fuel and during...
A remapped ECU would blow your mind then, far more punchy torque and more fuel economy seems too good to be true but ever since my VW Bora in 2008, remapped ECU's are simply awesome and transform good cars into 'this has to be too good to be true' cars! I'd never go back to petrol!
I considered that but the running costs of the new one are far lower and it would feel like I'm going backwards - think I'll wait another few weeks then buy the plug in box and settle for 180bhp.
It will coming from that and don't get me wrong its a beautifully built car that does everything I want it to. Doesn't help I drive a variety of higher powered Audi's on occasions and against a new A4 3.0tdi it feels like a snail so a hike to 215bhp / 315lb/ft that this lump could produce with...
When you've driven a remapped diesel running 200bhp and 300lb/ft that pulls like a train from 1300 revs, this feels flat as frig and really slow! It's ok when over 3500rpm but even then its feels really restricted and sluggish in the power department. Everything else about the car is awesome...
DTUK - are you offering members discount on the web price for these boxes that are currently £395 online?
Looks like the plug in box is the only way forward as no one can remap!
Im still on standard power and really gutted as after 7 1/2 months of standard power I'm really climbing the walls but STILL no one is able to read the new style ECU's! DTUK box I REALLY wanted to avoid, I want a full DPF removal and remap but looks like I'll be waiting a while until someone...
I agree with the above and also have a brand spanking new 13 plate I want remapped! Took it to P-Torque last month and the ECU software has changed so is currently with the software developers to be de-encrypted. It will be going back to them as soon as this has been done for full DPF removal...
Momentary lapse in concentration and I've managed to kerb a wheel of my brand new A3 S-Line, there is no way I'm leaving it so need to get an idea of a reasonable place to get it done either tomorrow lunchtime/Wednesday am while the car gets remapped in Wolverhampton or back in the...
Just got off the phone to Will @ P-Torque. He's done a few now and apparently the new Golf is the same -they keep the sheer bolts in stock now and it's simple enough to do without it being noticeable.
Power up to around 195bhp and torque to 315lb/ft and the usual couple of mpg gain. All booked...
