    iPaq & Screen Saver

You're getting the built in screen saver (Dockware) designed to work wheb the iPAQ is on externalpower - great in the office, not so great when using TomTom in the car. You need to disable it entirely, when it comes on, click and hold on the screen, then go to options and turn it off.

Tom Tom - Hardwired into car

Try http://www.brodit.com, they do a whole range of clips to either take your iPAQ holder that came with your TomTom kit (if you bought it that way) or they also do iPAQ holders that you then mount on their clip.

Digital Camera - semi pro type

I've got a Panasonic FZ20 - made choice after a lot of research and having a digi cam for a few years. Yes its got its faults, a lot of people say low light focussing is a problem, but I haven't found that yet - it does have a focus assist lamp. The long range zoom (12x) is brilliant and the...

Tom Tom - Hardwired into car

When I did mine I got a power plug from Maplins (can get elsewhere already wired) and tapped into the rear of the fuse box as its easily accessible to the right of the steering wheel. I got a Brodit mount which clips onto the air vent and hods the TomTom mount solid.

Ipod sound quality.. what to do now?!

Don't know the specifics of the Archos but would assume that the outputs would go to RCA plugs at some point. You can get an Aux Input Adaptor (VAGX2) from In Car Developments that plugs into the Symphony II (Connects2 do one but it doesn't work with the 2004 model) that takes the RCA plugs...

    HDD MP3 Player

I've been looking for a HDD MP3 player and searching the forum have seen that everyone seems to go for the Phatnoise. However, I have found on the net something called an MStation or Neo jukebox. Does anyone know of these/had any experience of these?

    Front Window question

I had similar problems with unlocking and boot opening. Discovered it was due to buttons on key fob being pressed when I sat down. Solved probem by getting key fob cover off ebay, about £7. It replaces the large button area with a hard surface and a narrow strip down the middle that you press...

    12V supply into arm rest

Careful, I think that the cigarette lighter bit transforms the voltage down to something like 3.7 volts

    Rally Experiences

I did one at Silverstone last year, it was a full day and although it was about £200 it's far better value than the Red Letter Days - you only get about 2.5/3hrs on those. With a full day you get teaching in all the techniques, a few goes doing a couple of different laps putting all the...

Hardwiring Sat Nav - Where to tap into?

Haven't got any tools on me so didn't take the dash apart to show the connection into the fuse box. Basically remove top and bottom bolt holding in place, it should then push back slightly and then be able to pull it forwards at an angle. The back of the box hinges open to get to the wires.

Pics as promised, sorry for the quality - taken with the iPAQ.

Hardwiring Sat Nav - Where to tap into?

Just one word of warning - the TomTom cradle is fine, it takes a 12v feed and knocks it down to the right voltage (3.6 I think), other cradles don't, the transformer is in the cig lighter plug! You can tell anyway, by looking at the cradle it will have markings on saying what the input is and...
