Well, after taking my turbo out and cleaning it, then refitting I think my turbo is shagged. It's a garret gt1749va, can I put a gt1749v back in? It's a 2.0 tdi blb engine. Or could I just get a new cartridge?
its all fitted correctly leak is coming from the underside of the metal pipe that screws to the exhaust manifold. Can you blank the egr on a blb engine.
It gets better, found that it is now a leak in my egr pipe that connects to the exhaust manifold. What price do you reckon it's going to cost for the price guys? Or am I best trying the scrap yards? Got to be a blb engine out there that has failed :-)
Just taken a video to show what is happening.
1st video is car started without the turbo actuator pipe attached. I then add and remove the pipe
2nd video shows what the car is doing to the actuator on start up. Used my spare actuator
3rd video shows the spare actuator attached to the pipe under...
Right guys and girls, I have taken my turbo off and fully cleaned it, I have also changed the actuator. Put it all back fine, start the car and smoke comes from the turbo? Take the actuator pipe off and all is fine. Should there be vacuum suction coming from the actuator pipe or should that only...
found and replaced, thanks for the post mate, really was a five minute job. Can not believe the garage wanted £90 to do that. Cheeky sods. Thanks again.
Hello, I can manage to take my turbo out of my car and clean it, but I can not seem to find the coolant temperature sensor on my car. Can anyone point me in the right direction please. A picture would be amazing.
Thanks guys, much appreciated. I might be back if I get stuck :-)
Also is there anyway to test my n75 valve and solenoid? As I believe the actuator diaphragm has gone. That the reason for removal.
Now I have my turbo out on my 2005 tdi I thought I would give it a clean with mr muscle. I know with the innotec kit you get a stage 2 clean out. What could I use in replacement that would not cause the turbo any harm?
