no not add PTFE.....Audi always recommend a low ash fully synthetic oil but must admit I have always used 5-50 fully synthetic motor sport oil and changed oil plus filter every 5000 and 86,000 miles on my engine is still very sweet
on a v8 bank1 is where cylinder 1 is so looking front front bank 1 on the left so bank 2 on the right yes?????? this not a statement but a question please
Believe me you would really like a D3 4.2 tdi it has massive torque and an effortless cruiser and if you care to chip it then it faster than a 4.2 petrol SFI....check out the 2016 A8 now that will be something else engine options yet to be fixed but expect there to be the 4.2 tdi in the line-up
well my trusty A8 2006 4.2 tdi has just had the 2 most common faults together 1) the MMI not raise and lower smoothly and 2) the adaptive suspension air compressor failed but look fear not the fix was easy and not bank breaking.
The MMI actuating motor has plastic gears and Audi know this is a...
ANYTHING WIDER WOULD FOUL THE INNER BODY PANELS ON FULL LOCK OR OUTER WING ON HARD STRAIGHT-LINE BRAKING NOSE DOWN OR DIVE BRAKING AND YES YOU CAN FIT 22" WHEELS BUT MAYBE ONLY 255 OR 265 WIDTH DEPENDS WHAT IMPORTANT TO YOU DIAMETER OR TYRE WIDTH
BUT BEAR IN MIND THEY ARE 285mm WIDE BUT ONLY 30 PROFILE TO KEEP THE ROLLING RADIUS TO A POINT WHERE SPEEDO STILL READS CORRECT BUT AT SAME TIME RIDE NOT TOO HARSH
This the A8 4.2 TDI with 9.5 J Wolfrace RR and 285/30/20 tyres have tried various pressures but 32-34 psi feels good, ride not harsh but excellent feed-back, Tyres are Falken FK453's
Well must say all the threads on A8 side light bulb replacements filled me with horror as I knew the day would come I needed to change a side light. It is very true the engine bay is very tightly packed and yes it not even possible to see behind the head lights....my A8 is a 2006 4.2 TDI and...
Can now amend this statement and now have a solution and these Wolfrace wheels now fitted with 285 low profile tyres if any one want to know exactly how mail me pete.ellingsen-trickett@hotmail.co.uk
Can now say that Wolfrace RR alloy wheels 9.5J x 20" ET 35 will not fit an A8 not without resorting to wheel spacer kits + other mods despite many alloy wheel suppliers say they do fit........
realize this thread now a bit old but A8s have very complicated electronics around the battery don't use the car to jump another or be jumped..........if you fit a new battery usually a 100 amphr Varta a tech with a laptop needs to update the system with the new battery details otherwise things...
yes i have a 4.2 tdi lots of toys but it an 06 model.....some after-market 20" wheels....yes find it a great engine economy comes on a long motorway/dual carriageway type journey but it not the best in city driving....change the engine oil and filter often which is a very easy DIY option mine...
I find very little difference mpg air con on or off but try to keep your foot well carpets as dry as possible and occasionally lift out and dry in the wind or if you lucky enough to have a radiator in your garage or utility use that ....just try to keep the inside of your car as dry as you...
hi from Aberdeen....have used 20" ET 35 9J for a number of years shod with 275 x 35 x 20 Continentals about to look at some Wolfrace RR 9.5J but not made tyre choice yet on a 06 4.2 TDI A8
