Ok that's great, thanks for the info. I'll have to take it apart and hopefully find a broken wire!

    Avant rear wiper problem

Hi, the rear wiper on my Avant has been very intermittent recently and after stripping the motor down and cleaning it up all seems fine, and the motor also returns to it's "home" position once reassembled and re-connected so I don't think the motor itself is faulty. I tested the 4 wires at the...

    Audi B6 aero blades help?!!!

As far as I know Bosch don't make aero blades for the early B6's, I looked into getting those in the link below but after reading someone else on here bought them and wasn't happy with them I got some B7 arms. The A016S wipers in the links above are for the B7 arms, I think...

    loads of errors help

Is the steering sensor fault back? If it is have you driven the car since the fault came up as sometimes it will clear itself after a few minutes of driving. (I think it re-calibrates itself??)

    Parking Sensor Problems

Thanks for the reply and the info. I do most of the work on my cars and so I'll have a go myself, thanks for the offer though. Does anyone know if the part numbers for the front and rear sensors are the same?

    loads of errors help

It's likely that the Steering Angle Sensor fault is the cause of the ESP light being on. As the car has detected a fault with the system it automatically turns the ESP off.

    Parking Sensor Problems

Hi all, I recently bought another B6. It's a well spec'd 1.9TDI Avant Quattro and needed a few issues sorted so I got a good deal on it. I've sorted most things out now but I'm having some issues with the parking sensors. The car has front and rear sensors which I believe are factory fitted, but...

    Replacing engine mounts....DIY job?

Yeah I thought they would all be the same but apparently not, I double checked the Febi website and looked under that tab but no luck. From what I can see there may be differences between 5 and 6 speed gearboxes? I've ended up ordering the more expensive mount being listed as correct for the 1.9...

    Replacing engine mounts....DIY job?

Hi, thanks for that link, I checked it out and it seems that the Febi mount I'd found wouldn't fit although it looks identical to the one on my car. I'll have to go for the more expensive one which includes the bracket as thats the same as the one listed on the Febi database for my car. I'd be...

    Replacing engine mounts....DIY job?

Are the gearbox mounts universal across the B6 engines or do they differ? I found a Febi mount on eBay but its listed as only being compatible with the 2.5Tdi and 1.8T 6 speed cars? If they differ does anyone know the part number for the 1.9Tdi 5 speed? Thanks, Joe

    Replacing engine mounts....DIY job?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I've just been out in the car again and the noise seems to have changed, my girlfriend uses the car through the week and I don't drive it all that much at the minute so hadn't driven it in a while. The noise now seems to be more of a few grumbling/rubbing/clunking...

    Replacing engine mounts....DIY job?

Hi, I'm trying to diagnose a couple of problems with my B6 which I think may be down to the engine mounts so I'm interested to hear if anyone here has had similar symptoms. I have a clunking/knocking noise that mainly occurs in 1st/2nd gear when accelerating or letting off the throttle, however...

Speedo cluster issues causing immobiliser to kick in and no-start

Ok, so I just went out to the car and it started first time no problem. Took it for a short drive and all seems fine. However I just doont feel like I can trust it not to do the same again. After a scan with the Vag-com i found the following errors (among others) but these seem to be the...

Speedo cluster issues causing immobiliser to kick in and no-start

Hi all, I have an A4 B6 1.9Tdi that im having problems with at the minute. The issue seems to be that the speedo cluster isn't working aside from only three lights that come on are ABS, ESP and the Airbag light, nothing else works on the cluster. I believe the immobiliser is built into the...

    Help with 1.8T Error Codes

Thanks for the replies! I have replaced the valve as a precaution and the idle has been fine since. After clearing the error codes only the P1128 code has now returned. I have re-checked for vacuum leaks and still couldn't find any, however I noticed that you can hear the oil in the sump...
