Hi Weverall
Its a great feeling when you get it all working again isn't it. I must have done mine at least 6 times in 4 years so don't go thinking its a permanent cure, in the end I fitted another new motor from Audi costing £214 it had already been replaced before I bought the car and cost the...
Hi Rob
I don't quite understand, if it is now working electrically why are you trying to raise it manually?
It sounds as if your not releasing the rear latch fully, it does need a bit of brute force
It was a big mistake to attempt removing the armature using a press because the bearing stays on the spindle and there is no way it will come off, neither can it be re-assembled because the retainer clip cannot be refitted. However, I did find the reason the brushes where stuck is because the...
To release the pressure in the system so you can raise it manually, turn of the ignition and pull the up / down button for 5 seconds then the pressure releases or just wait for 10 minutes
Thanks for the quick reply, OK I have already taken the screws out of the board are you saying the armature then comes out of the bearing or that the windings come of the spindle? surely not.. either way it wont budge how would you make it come off?
I need help, for ages now I've been whacking the roof pump motor to engage the brushes but they have got completely stuck this time so I decided to take the motor completely to pieces and fix it permanently by filling the brushes to make them slide easier but of course to do that you need to get...

and decided I would give it an oil change, but I cant get the engine cover off to identify the engine code, apparently there is more than one type of oil filter for this...
My car is all fixed, I found that the rear window washer was leaking directly onto the lock mechanism and the micro-switch was short circuited, this is what caused the battery to slowly drain and the alarm to go off.
I fitted an "O"ring to the wiper shaft, that cured the leak and obtained a new...
