Replacing gear knob on A3 (2002) model - Audi Forums

Check the Manifold to Turbo Gasket (make sure that the bolts are also tightened) as well as the Downpipe gasket

Check that the bolts from your Manifold to turbo are tight, as well as it could be a blown gasket that may need replacing. its a triangular shaped gasket that sits between the manifold and turbo, will cause slow boost build up as well as you may not reach your normal boost levels.

@sssline, you are half correct, it's the bottom Spoiler that is different, I bough it off a local Audi club member a few years ago. It was known as the Sportech lip. But I imagine it would be like hens teeth to find these days. Here is a link for a company that sells it in South Africa Audi A3...
