well i am not sure if my problem is same, but mine does single knock when put reverse gear on and trying to park backwards. that knock appears only when i try to reverse car. My street is very narrow so have to park my car as close as possible to kerb so i do that only backwards to be able see...

omfg! it helped!, no more limp mode! to be honest i did not beliave in this crap with mr.Muscle,but since i got a quote from garage £400 punds i decided to give it a try. took me about 4 hours ,cause on 53plate audis it abit more difficult since it has egr pipe cooling system or what soever...

I have got same problem, badly low mpg... 20mpg(round town drive brim to brim) on 1.9tdi (130)multitronic . Now outside is +3c, starting a car, let it work for 1-2min, then i need 15min!!! of round town drive(not in slow motion) to get it up till 90c is that normal? (has new thermostat) once it...

Thanks, why do i need to block either ends of it? not just one? i have b6, so 1end in a bottom of egr valve and another one is closer to offside headlamp? if i block them? what happens next? do i need disconnect anythiing?

well mine full tank never ever shoved 680mls, highest i seen was 450 or sol... maybe that my right foot fault then? even computer knows that my mileage wont be high :D Will have a look on brakes later,you maybe right.thanx

Just cleaned my Egr valve(pain in *** to get 3rd bolt on bottom) had lot of gunk in it, however couldn't take ex.manifold off, so cleaned just a egr valve. tomorrow morning will check if it still smokes that bad when cold. When engine cold,does egr suposed to be closed or open? Now have another...

temp get to 90c and stands there with no jumps.

Garage scanned it with computer 1month ago when i complained about low mpg, no faults at all.

so thats means,sometjhing really wrong with it :(

Well i have problem, till engine is cold car is very smoky,stinky and does horible 20mpg on 1.9tdi engine, once it warmed up,no smoke at all and mpg goes up to 45 as it supposed to be, so what is up with my EGR? is it stuck open or closed? what do i need to do, to stop it smoke badly at cold...
