Sounds like there's definitely still some air in the system. You'll need to bleed all calipers in the order that the Haynes manual specifies and don't forget any bleed nipples on the master cylinder. I tried the manual method (the missus does the brake while i bleed each caliper) and I couldn't...
A bit of black smoke is just a thing of diesels I think mate (no smoke, no poke!) My EGR is pretty clean and I get a bit of smoke when I boot it - have always assumed it's normal.
I'd look on All German Car Parts or AVS Car Parts online:

I've used both companies in the past and can recommend. They don't stock absolutely everything but have most OEM parts at decent prices.
Put the front up on ramps / axle stands and carefully inspect all the bushes to see if they look cracked or perished. You can also use a big screwdriver or metal bar to try levering different places to see how much play there is in each bush.
Have you tried looking on All German Parts?

Even if it's not listed they can probably get it. I've used them and they're spot on.
Might be worth buying some bleed screws to replace the others if they're looking a bit corroded - after the hassle I had with mine I replaced all the caliper bleed screws for new ones.
Had exactly the same thing happen with my 8l recently except it was the o/s/f where the bleed screw rounded off. I bought a replacement caliper in the end as the whole thing had seen better days and I couldn't easily drill out the heavily corroded bleed screw. I ended up having to bleed the...
Gutted for you mate. Would it be easier / cheaper maybe to replace the wing with one off a car that's that's being broken for spares rather than fill and spray?
Keep adding a little bit at a time and letting it settle down in the sump for several minutes before checking the level again. If it's registering on the dipstick then you'll be OK to start it and let it tick over a little while to move the oil around. Should take somewhere between 4 and 4.5...
Yeah the alternator has a one way clutch which will cause a chattery noise at tick over if it's had it. Easiest thing to do while the belt is off is to see if it will move as it should and if it's broken get one off another alternator to replace it. You probably will need a special tool (like a...
How long have you had the battery? It might have just collapsed or it could be the alternator at fault. Why not take out the battery and charge it in the house and if it charges up OK and holds it that should mean it's the alternator at fault. Then if you can start the engine after charging the...
This thread discussed the fuel pump relay, sounds like it is 409 you need:

I'd service it yourself. You know that you're putting in the best oil and other bits that way and are reassured that everything is done properly then. Plus for the money saving you can change the oil etc twice as often if you want. As above i'd much rather buy a second hand car that'd been...
I'd check all the connections you can get at if it was me. Check where the wires go into the door from the car body (inside a rubber sleeve) and also maybe take the door card off to have a look.
2 years isn't great for a battery, I think places usually quote 4 years average life span and I've had several that have lasted a lot more. It's worth having the biggest battery that will fit in for a TDI as it takes a fair bit more amps to start than a petrol. As above i'd keep an eye on it...
Hopefully you didn't drive it much after the light showed as if it's starved of oil then you might well have done damage. Plenty of threads on here about blocked oil pick up pipes on the 1.8 turbos. What engine is it? Could be a sensor at fault but to be safe I'd avoid driving it until you...
