I would expect a Baffled can to collect water and oil mix which is its purpose to stop it re entering the tip,the way I look at it the hot steam has no restrictions on a non baffled can so exits with no hold ups but the baffled slows the flow so cools and stays inside. Or am I talking waffle as...

I have had oily residue in there but nothing enough to drain,Mine is a home made can I turned up on the lathe and has the full size inlets and outlet it also isnt baffled and steams constant when the car is upto temp on tickover.
