I've remapped a fair few of these now and all going strong, it all depends on who maps it and how its mapped. People these days just increase all the maps 10% and think they are mapping the car good.

You will get about 25% increase in power and economy will go up slightly. It all depends on who tunes your car.

I spoke to a tester today while doing a DPF delete on a car for the MOT station. They simply said its only a visual inspection, even if signs of welding he said they can't see whats inside so its a pass still.

It won't hurt the car just your pocket as your DPF will block up quicker due to soot accumulating faster than normal. In the end you will end up removing the DPF or keep replacing DPF's every few months. The price is a bit steep I had mine done for less than half that with a remap.

This issue occurs when the checksum is incorrect inside the instrument cluster. This occurs often using the wrong tool on some versions of the Audi TT and Audi A3 (8L). It can now only be fixed by a specialist.
