Well audi told me in the first place that the actual problem was my ECU. they fobbed me off with 'the internals of your ecu are damaged'. the car does need a service and i did question the coil packs however my garage said that problem wouldnt do what the car is doing if that makes sense

Petrol, the ECU was second hand, 100% standard and working and also the same part number. The ECU reprogramming company checked it. the new ecu has been plugged into a machine and there is no errors logged on it

But i don't have a chipped ECU. my new ecu is 100% standard and there are no errors being shown HOWEVER my previous ECU did have check sum errors!
